Anyone using Weathertech or aftermarket Floor Mats?

I'm looking at possibly purchasing Weathertech floor mats for my 2g, but I'm concerned with fitment issues as the eclipse floor board, especially the driver side, has many strange angle cuts where I have had difficulty fitting generic aftermarket brand floor mats in the past.

Does any one have any opinion on these floor mats specifically in the 2g eclipse, or better yet a picture of these or other worth while aftermarket mats in their cars? If I can't get any good information I may decide on custom cut carpet floor mats, which appear to be not as durable and more expensive.

I have them (Weathertech) in my SRT-8, and it too has a weird floorboard. As long as you get the laser cut ones you'll be fine, mine fit like a glove. They are however pricey, but you get what you pay for!

I have the Weathertech floormats in my GMC Sierra and I really like them. The fit is perfect and it has really helped keep the snow off my carpet this winter. My only complaint I have is they can be somewhat slick if your feet are wet. This probably won't be a problem if you are putting them in a 2g but my truck is lifted so you have to pull yourself up and sometimes your foot will slip.

Is what i get from their website for about $50 considered "laser cut" or do I need to pay extra for that? The image they use doesn't look like it has been cut to fit the floor, it just looks like a generic shape floor mat, thus my confusion. From the pull down box I selected specifically a 1995 Eclipse Coupe.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: I spoke to weathertech on the phone... they actually recommended I look elsewhere for floormats as for anything of the 95 year is just a "generic shape" and will not likely fit correctly and is not cut to fit. I asked if I could pay to have them cut the mats correctly and they said they would not. I guess I'll be getting carpet mats.

I got them and they are a generic fit. I was very disappointed and called them. They offered to take them back and refund me, but they are such good quality that I kept them. Even though they are generic, they do fit well.

estoya do you by chance have a photo of the fitment in your car?

having kids i have weathertechs in all my cars. they fit like a glove. they are pricy but totally worth it if you dont want the stcok carpet wrecked. plus if you ever sell the car you can also resell the floor mats to the new owner or on a car forum or ebay for almost what you paid since they dont wear out.

They were "generic" fit for my Evo, or Lancer as it is to them, and even still the fit was good enough. I was able to finally wear one out where my right heel sits, but they are still a good high quality mat. Will buy again.

I got these generic "cut to fit" bad boys at walmart... Don't look great and I'm not fond of the pattern, but for $20 for passenger and driver, I can't complain.

Do they have to be weathertech? I bought some oem ones from Jnz tuning and am really happy with them as they even have the "eclipse" logo on them. Only trade off is they don't have the original gray color but the gray charcoal they have looks much better IMO :thumb:

I should say I only use those rubber mats in the winter. I have my OEM carpet mats that I swap out when its nice out.
