custom valve covers
I'm currently shaving my second valve cover so I can do a unique paint job on it. Who else out there has something unique they've done to their covers? I'm talking about something beyond simply shaving it or doing a 1 or 2 color paint job. Pics please....

Thread in oil cap.
You might also want to consider larger ports for improved crankcase evacuation, and one of Kevin's aluminum baffle kits.

No on the threaded cap thats at a later stage, and as looking at the new baffles but didnt see the point untill i weld in some bungs for the catch can system and im not there yet,
Whats this about ports for crankcase stuff. Got any links and do i really need this done? I can get it done if needs be but same with the baffles if its not needed at the level im at then it can wait, would like to read on about it though, never mind what you mean is the same as what i will end up doing,

Nice. I just got home so I'm gonna go work on my cover. May not get far due to it being rainy today, but gonna try anyway. Might just bake the paint.

Thanks.
I dont recommend to paint the spark plug area, wrinkle paint is not easy cleaning ...

Wow, i want that VC hell i just want the piece of aluminum that it took to cut it from, that's probably in excess of 150-200 bucks worth of aluminum alone (but really i want the CNC converted bridgeport)

I sream clean mine as getting into the cracks are tough, i would never go wrinkle though as its just not me but i think it has something to do with how hard it is to clean.
Ive seen that VC before and it looks amazing but does it do anything more then the stock ones do?

Damn, that Billet cover looks great.... I think I want one now.... so I didn't get more than one coat of paint on my valve cover last night. Air temp was too cold to continue further, so I ended up going out to one of the local race tracks with a couple friends and just watched people race. Only 1 DSM out of all the racers.... for shame...
Hopefully I'll have pics of my cover up a little later, gonna go work on it soon.

Well here's my cover, partially finished. Thinking I may just stop and strip it again. Didn't come out nearly as cool as I saw it in my head. Oh well... any ideas out there?

I'm sure that he would consider it if people were willing to pay the price (a lot)...which sure doesn't seem like it when it comes to most dsmers

Here is mine. I just got done polishing it. I'm probably gonna do some engraving or something to compliment it. I have a lot of polished aluminum and brushed aluminum in my engine bay.
Here is what I started with for the most part. Stock hyundai valve cover

You have to pay to play and to make it reliable lol. Some people dont relize this still for some reason. I am also wanting to fully polish my vc but cant seem to find anyone that does it and wanting to powder coat it clear so it keeps without having to be a pain in the ass to clean.

The billet VC from Andrew will be between 550-700. It's pimp but it eats up a lot of machine time and it's a big chunk of metal.

Have you got him talked into piggy-backing a nice set of baffles onto each one he sells?

I wish.
He cut the overall height of the unit down a lot. So much so that I don't think you can even fit a baffle in there that is anything like the OEM unit. Andrew said he is going to build some type of baffle that is machined into the VC. I have not seen that design yet.

Stripped the red off my VC and painted a new design. Letting it sit overnight. Will post pics after work tomorrow, if it comes out right anyway.

I got one in the shop now that is doing it the same way that you have yours. He is getting the bung welded in for the oil cap, Kevin's baffles with 8AN fittings. And another getting fittings and Kevin's baffles and on top of all that some sick ass powdercoating work One is going to be candy blue over a silver vein, cannot wait to see the finish on it!
