need help putting shift boot on!!

I can't seem to get my custom shift boot on. I took the old one off and am putting this one on. It has the slits on the bottom of the boot to slide over the tab thingys on the underneath side of the console, but do i fold the extra stuff over the frame and then tuck it on the other side because the boot just falls off when i just put the slits on the boot over the tabs...someone help please

it should just need the tabs to locate it untill you can remount the ring- btw if its a POS i make boots for 1g and 2g's fer $20 shipped
