i recently purchased a 99 eclipse rs :ohdamn: should of went turbo but cash is tight and i got a good deal. but it lacked lots of basic features that im used too having. so im in the process of adding power mirrors and fog lights, and i would also like to add a rear wiper arm. the bolt holes are already in the hatch so drill a hole for the arm and thats that. but the actual wiring is tripping me up. ive come up with two options. get a gs body wiring harness, or make my own. as far as making my own ive worked out how to get the washer to work, just the arm. according the factory service manual pins 3 and 7 and 5 and 6 are connected during int mode. and low shows that 7 and 6 are connected. i just cant for the life of me figure out how to make it work. if someone could help me with this i would appreciate it. thanks.

If you have the wiring out of a car that has the rear wiper, then I'd just swap the whole harness to the fusebox.

I am more familiar with the 1G cars, but expect that the wiring is not a lot different. I am assuming that you do have the wiring diagram for at least your car.

The wiring is a bit confusing due to the intermittent function and the return the wiper to home when you shut it off.

There is a switch in the wiper motor that routes power to the delay relay which then routes power to the dash switch then back to the motor. This path through the delay relay and the dash switch position is how the intermittent mode is achieved. The second wire from the dash switch to the delay relay signals which mode is requested. There is a separate power to the motor bypassing the switch and delay relay to return the motor to home when the dash switch is turned off.

It is all grounded through the attachment bolts for the motor.

I hope this makes some sense and helps a little.

To make your life a bit easier you really want to have the relay and switch from the car the wiper motor came from or new ones.

If you can get a harness it will be easier as you get the correct connectors with the harness. Otherwise you need to find them or make something equivalent.
