I've looked around and have NOT found one single retrofit with these projectors in our kinda headlights (92+). These projectors were designed to be "bolted" into H4 housings. I was introduced to them by another retrofit guy here on the forums and always wanted some. Picked these guys up for 60 new. I need to break out the dremel because using a hole saw on OEM Headlight Reflectors is a royal PITA. And I already screwed up the first one. However the fix cost me 10 cents. Next one I'm gonna break out the dremel.

I decided to use the OEM Reflectors because the Ebay headlight reflectors aren't "cut". They are just a shiny bowl with a bulb inside them. So they have no professional beam... Not like it matters. I just want to still use the OEM High Beam.

The High beam is pretty awesome too. Bi-Xenon FTW! Can't wait till my new HID's show up and I need to order some Shrouds so I can seal it up.

yeah they do! You lucky bastard and your H4's. Cutting the reflector housing is very much a pita.... I have a perfect sized hole saw but can't hold it still and centered.

Did you step up your right side to go that next notch? Looks like it.

Actually they are in a 9006 1GB housing. I didn't have to trim anything. Bolted right in. I just had to make sure that they were level before I sealed the housings back up in the oven (don't tell the wife. Hope she doesn't read these forums).

How? 9006 is a billion times smaller hole than H4 and they are made for H4. So only way for them to install right is the proper sized hole to be cut.

Aww shit I just read up that the h1 kits are made for smaller bulbs. Damn. I picked up an D2S kit. Guess it will be ok tho as long as it looks good and is aligned. Damn should do more research. Oh well 60 new can't go wrong.

You might need to trim or ream out the bulb whole a bit. However it's much less involved the a full on retro.

Looks good so far Josh, can't wait to see the finished thing.

Dude I'm upset. I wish I knew but oh well I got real D2S hids. The projector is kinda low in the housing

Hows the progress on these? What shrouds are you using?

I just bought a new set of OEM headlights and the Morimoto mini H1s to install with 4300k bulbs. I bought a bunch of different shrouds, but the mini gattling gun ones seem to fit the best in the headlight housing. The Apollo ones looked good online, but are way too big for the headlight. Hopefully I should have this retro done by the weekend.

This set-up will be replacing my color modded TSX clear lens retro in an older style dual projector headlight, so I'm hoping for some good results. I almost bought the mini D2S thinking I would just use my hole saw bit to open up the back of the reflector, but after hearing your issues, I'm glad I didn't.

I've been using the Morimoto H1 kit on my car for a little over a month now, and I absolutely love them.

Install was pretty easy took me about a good 3-4hours. NO CUTTING involved which was a huge plus for me. The wiring harness included with the kit was self explanatory. I need to figure how to route the wires to the bulbs or drill some holes to the Headlamp DustCaps, but they fit with no problems.

Before these my car had on retrofitted TSX projectors. And from my opinion and my friends, the Morimoto's are alot brighter and cutoff is sharper. There is a hint a blue on the edge of the cutoff which i like.

The kit I am using is a
Morimoto 3Five 35w ballast w/ 4300k H1 Bulb
using a Mini Gatling Gun (standard model)

Here are a couple of pics of it installed from my phone. Sorry car needs a car wash. I will try to get some nights shots of the cutoff later.
