It's a little thing that causes me big problems. the damn brake handle hits my knee when i drive. i'm 6'10" and love my DSM, but that thing has to be moved or something. i need it so i can't just take it off. if anyone has a solution let me know asap, it's driving me nuts. thx

I can’s say that I have ever address ergonomics issue like this :).

What is your annoyance? The fact that you trigger the brake light or the fact that touch it at all?

You can fix the light, but I am not sure what you can about the overall fit, short of remounting your farther back.

Another solution could be to get a 2G, where the brake is on the other side. Of course I can’t stand AutoXing in a 2G because instead of a e-brake, my knee rides on the center counsel panel (right around the radio) and bruises.

it's not the light at all. my legs are just too long and my leg hits the e-brake right on my knee bone. it's a little uncomfortable and could make things difficult if i ever get it on a street course. if anyone has a way of relocating the hand brake let me know, i'll deffinately make use of any info.

i dont really know about the brake handle in a 1G but may i recommend cutting it off so it's a lil bit shorter?

get some pipe insulation from home depot and put it around it...
your one huggggge friggin guy!

I'm right there with both of you- the brake handle on the 1G rode on the bone below my knee, and when I first got the 2G the console was worse. Somehow I've found a place in the 2G that everything's fine, but that 1G handle still hurts. I thought of making some pad out of urethane foam, but I drive the 2G so much more these days it's not so much of an issue.

i think i'm going to make a trip to the junk yard and cut up some one else's car before i do anything. worst case senerio, i just get a shorter brake handle from another car and see if i can make it fit. as far as a racing seat to scoot back farther, there really isn't much room to move back. if anyone has a good looking removed rear seat, that might give me an extra inch or two to move back. i'm trying to make the compromise between comfort and style (style usually loses), but i'm trying real hard to find the median.
