1GA to 1GB Rear Swap

So i got the 1gb rear bumper and tails on tonight. Here are some before and after pics.

Are you going to put a front bumper on, paint it all to make, or just making a Franken-car?

I do like how the 1ga wing looks over the 1gb rear though.

Yup already put a front bumper on not the greatest but works for now. When I get a new front bumper and 1gb side skirts then I will think about paint but as of right now I don't know what color I will paint the car.

I like the 1GA Tails better, 1gb Talon bumper better. Flipping hate the goofy ass 1gb tails.All bubbled and shit... And the dip in the middle I dont like either.

I have considered trying to custom fit a trimmed 1gb bumper cover with the 1ga tails... But still have not found the correct color bumper. (Black/Silver). I may just purchase the next black one I see, and see if I can figure out what to do with it .

Would you be willing to take a few measurements? Such as taillight Height, and Bumper Height? For the 2gb equipment Of course.

Well you would have to use the center piece of the 1gb in order for you to have a license plate bracket. 1ga tails wouldn't work unless you cut and modified the rear bumper and added bonding to a few places. Honestly my opinion that would be too much work to be worth it.

Custom work is no sweat to me. I have a daily, and my 1g AWD Is my toy/project so if I could make that rear something unique, but not retarded looking like 99% of the body kits out there, I wouldn't mind.

I was thinking of trimming the upper portion of the bumper cover, so that it is flat across the top. Just unsure if that would leave the bumper short to still match the body lines.

Your right, with it as clean as that it is sexxxy as hell. But i still like my 1gb better.


after looking into it some more, i dont quite like the 1gb wing however, It looks so good with the 1ga 5 piece and the 1gb bumper and tails though.

I know this is a wicked old thread but I personally like 2 things of the 1gb rear the way the tail lights look and the cut out in the bumper for the tip. I will say the 1ga rear looks fine all its own but I'm more a fan of being able to tuck my exhaust away without too much fab work. I want a 1ga again but this time instead of routing the exhaust and cutting a hole "if done rite looks super clean " just getting a 1gb cconversion and doing something with the extra cut outs in the rear bumper that's where the 1gb bumper falls short I absolutely hate the little slots in the rear bumper
