my new engine bay!

Alright guys so a couple weeks ago I asked about painting an engine bay and taking the firewall blanket off etc.

I ended up just prepping everything good and I ordered factory color paint in spray cans.

here are the pictures I promised.


take note, I actually painted the engine bay before in the picture with the firewall blanket on....it wasn't factory color and in person it looked like crap.

sound and heat deadening for inside the cabin. I heard that you can barely tell the difference, but if it is a problem I will put stuff in from inside the cabin.

yeah the first link is so expensive, the link I posted is way cheaper.

anyways yes I did use it all but that includes painting the bottom of my hood too

Looks good! That AFPR with gauge will probably not fit there with the Evo III mani.

Must have been some kind of fun seperating the engine from the tranny in there ! Way easier to pull them out together . . .

it wasn't that bad actually, but that's funny you're the only one to ever say something about it.

I know when I put it back in I'll take the tranny out first and then put the motor in and then button the tranny on.

I thought the same thing. My Fuel Lab afpr wouldn't fit right there when I installed it with a 2g intake manifold. I had to move it closer to the driver side by the reservoir. I wasn't sure if the Areomotive one was skinnier.

Either way, looks great OP. I have to repair some strut tower cancer some day, so thanks for the link!

You did a real nice job for sure. I believe you will have to move the AFPR also. Always fill the wholes and paint over if they bother you that bad

Dang! My paint cost $50 dollars a can. Bluestream Metallic Tri-coat isn't a cheap color. I guess that's why I paid $9,000 for the Chevrolet Corvette Color.
