i've herd the only different between a Talon and an eclipse is the front and rear bumpers?? is this true?? i also herd that if you get eclipse headlights and tailights a body kit designed for the eclipse will fit on the talon? again is this true???

sorry i really don't know to much, i'm knew and really like the BLITZ kits for the eclipse

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks for your time

As far as I know the fronts are the same between the talon and the eclipse the only difference is that both talon and eclipse changed the headlights from the 95-96 to the 97-99. That's when you have to change headlights to be able to fit a front bumper designed for one of those years to the other year cars. I thinks it's more difficult than just changing taillights for the rear to fit, cause the liscense plates are in completely different spots on the eclipse than on the talon.

Thanks...

do most body kits completely replace the back bumper or just add on to the existing piece?? and if anyone can tell me if it's possible to put a Blitz kit on a talon and how much extra work and money it would cost, that would be great...

heres what youll need:
97+ eclipse headlights
97 + eclipse front bumper
97+ eclipse tailights
97+ eclispe bumper

The cars are identical except for those parts and some minor styling. 97+ talons have swoosh over the doors (line continuing from the bumper)

As for Blitz and most of the other body kits, theyre BUTT UGLY! Any industrial designer will tell you the people who made 'em had no clue about design.

Eclipses and talons were deigned with smooth arganic curves, introducing something as geometric as the blitz kit will totally clash with the rest of the car.

I am also getting 97 side skirts becasue 95 talon side skirst have a chrysler logo on them and say 16V DOHC Turbo where the eclipse ones do not.

Later,

thanks for the info...
i really like body kits though, especially the Blitz kit off the fast and the furious... if i get 97+ headlights and tailights will the Blitz body kit fit on a 95 talon nicely?? or is it impossible to get a Blizt kit on a talon??

sorry i forgot to ask if i need to change the tailights and the rear bumper from a talon to a eclipse for a bodykit to fit or just the tailights??

thanks alot.. that helps alot but it's alot more complicated then i thought it would be... does anyone have an estimate on how much it cost and how much effort it would take to change from 95 talon rear lights and rear bumper to eclipse tailights and rear bumper??

Well you can probably get stock taillights for less than 100 and a rear bumper for about 150 plus you need 97 reverse lights which I think are 60 bucks so about 350

Later,

actually,

you can get stock tails' for $60 shipped, $100 rear bumper (???$$$ paint) and reverse light $40.

it's easy to do the conversion your self- u do NOT want to pay the shop to do it for you. You will end up paying as much as for all the parts.

so this isn't to tought or time consuming to do.. so if i really like the look i should do it... if i replace the lights and buy the bumper it shouldn't take to much work to make them fit??

The hardest part is just making the new center bracket and getting it lined up properly.

Installing the lights is cake, wiring isn't to hard.

To help align the bumper install the two outside lights bolt the bumper on both ends to the body. Lift the bumper up in the center so there is an even gap under the lights and draw a line on the body/ trunk with a marker where the bumper sits. Now when you remove the bumper you will have a guide on the body. You'll need to make a bracket, I use a piece of angled aluminum from Home Depot and bolted it to the body about a 1/4 inch below the line (thickness of the bumper). Now when you put the bumper back on you'll drill 2-3 holes through the bumper and into the plate and insert some screws to hold it in place. Bolt on the eclipse center light section (that you will need to drill about 4 new holes to fit) and you'll have your Talon/Eclipse.

I herd you have to take out the rear crumple part or something so that if you get in an accident it's really dangerous.. is that tru.. and how big of a safety hazard is it??

k i got a question that i dont think has been asked yet:

anyone ever actually done this?

also, ive been looking at a few pics of the sides of talons and clipses and it looks like there might be a problem with the eclipse tails fitting properly up against the hatch. ?

I've done it. This is my 97 Talon.

Yes both crash bumpers are removed. However I have seen a few people hack up the front of a Blitz kit to keep the front crash bumper. You see a lot of the crash bumper but they paint it the same color as the car.

phat ride.

something else. im going to go with a silver(main)/black color scheme. what i wanted to do wit hthe lights is get projector headlights and paint the outside(where possible)silver and the inner part black. has anyone tried this and/or know if it doesnt work at all? im also planning to get altezzas and do the same type thing.

wow... that's the nicest talon i have ever seen.. i'd love to make mine look like that.. i hope i'm not being obtrusive or asking to much of you but if there any chance you can tell me how much it cost you to make your car look like that without the paintjob.. can you also breakdow how much each part cost...

i'm asking alot so feel free not to answer..

thanks.. that's one hot ride

I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find out how to do a Talon to an Eclipse Tail Light conversion. If anyone has any idea how much it would be , all the stuff i need ,or where i can find good directions on how to it i would appreciate it... thanks

Well you have to get an eclipse rear bumper. eclipse reverse lights, and then the tail-lights. Cost varies depending on how much it costs you to paint the bumper and whether you install it yourself.
