those of you from 2gnt.com know what happened to me (damn you bambie). well i have some questions for those with carbon fiber hoods. i'm getting the visracing vs (invader) hood and i need to know if hood pins are a must or a waste. it includes the latch for hood and all so i'm asking if they are really neccessary? i'll be driving like 45-70 normally. 90 max on the highway, all depending on traffic. so let me know guys. i need to know soon. thanks.

Well, I have the vis invader hood. I have no prob. w/out hood pin, and I've seen people drive around in vis spec c/f hood fine w/out the hood pin. I really don't think you need one. But vis do suggest them.

I would recomend using hood pins. You could probably get buy without them, but you don't want to end up like some of those other people with the horror stories about the latch breaking causing the hood and windshield to crack. Or worse cause an accident.

like RST said, i would recommend using them JUST to be safe, if nothing more than that. i have saw someone's CF hood fly off on the freeway, luckily, i was just in front of them, and it wasnt busy at all. BTW, it was NOT a honda, sorry to say, it was a 2000+ eclipse!

i would get them put on there just to be safe. if you don't want them to be chrome and seen, just get some black hood pins. i have known people who trusted the latch and it went and ruined the hood, the front windshielf and their roof. that's alot of money to spend just because it is only "recommend" to put them on. they are only like what $30?
