hey, i put a system in my car a couple weeks ago, and I have a humming almost buzzing in my speakers. It sounds like it is from a bad ground, but it is grounded right to the chassis, with the paint removed. I have all the wires run seperate, so nothing is crossed. Anyone else ever have this problem? I tried a noise filter, made it worse, tried a ground loop isolator, still made it worse. I also put resistor plugs in, but theres no difference.

I also have a short somewheres:mad: so now my speakers cut out if there is either too much bass, if I get on the gas, or if I hit a bump! Thats starting to piss me off!!! cant find it though:mad:

but if anyone has had the buzzing and humming, please let me know what else I can do to get rid of it... I'm getting sick of telling everyone its my "electonic supercharger"!!!! starting to sound like a ricerOMG

peace,
Jay:thumb:

Speakers blown maybe? Either that or interference. Does the buzzing intensify when you rev your engine or accelerate?

I had the same problem when i put a head unit in. The buzzing would get louder as thte rpm's went up. I solved this by connecting the stereo to a constant power wire straight from the battery(my amplifier power wire) instead of connecting it to the old stereo harness

Could be your spark plugs!!!! If you don't have resistors you will hear a faint humming when you rev. Or you could have what i have and everytime you cut your stereo off my subs just rumble. I can't stand it.

You guys need to check your RCAs, and your Remote lines......and make sure your powerlines are run from the battery with a fuse

You said that you had no wires crossed - but I just wondering you are running your power wire on the opposite side of the car from your RCA cables and your speaker wires -If you are not then that might be the problem -

no its not...i have my wires all loomed up, the RCAs, seaker wire and electrical wires for my neons.....As long as all the connections are good, you didn't tap into another power wier....RUN IT FROM THE BATTERY...i have seen too many people just splice into a wire for power.

Just a note on your question about humming from speakers. I Had the same problem with my car, and I was told by my friend at Circuit City who is a stereo installer that DSM's are notorious for having engine whine. Not really too much to do according to him (i value his opinion)

id say its most likely your remote line but if you haev a faulty rca it could be that too
