I was wanting to repaint my winshield wipers because they have faded really bad and look horrible. I removed the bolt but still can't get them off. Can anyone give me some tips or something? Also is it safe to paint the plastic guard thats underneath the wipers?

push the little clip down and pull the blade towards the car (not away, as i originally thought) and it will slide right off. this is for an eclipse though, im not 100% positive its the same for a talon, it should be though.

I tried that the week after I got my car. I gave up...LOL. I went through bottles upon bottles of liquid wrench and what not and soooo much pulling. If you can't get them off, take your time to tape them off while still on the car and paint them while still on (did it on my friends car, no paint got on car) youd probably save time from pulling...haha

Thanks for the replies but I finally got them off. Busted another knuckle doing it. Whats funny is I didn't even feel this one.

Yeah, that plastic peice that the whipers bolt to, it hella faded on mine, almost gray. I never tried taking it off, I wanted to paint it but was afraid it would look tacky

I think as long as you didn't paint it a gloss black you would be alright.. you can get black paint for painting plastic trim pieces so they look black again but not glossy...

I think I will be painting mine in the spring too.. along with the wiper arms..
