radio problem

I am trying to install an aftermarket radion into my girls car. I know I did the connections right but it does not seem to be getting power. I have checked the fuse under the steering wheel but it is fine. What else can it be. Should I be checking something else. I think I have a short but dont know how to begin with this. Please help. its a 1g eclipse

first do the easy step and just check all ## fuses, sometimes a bad fuse somewhere else messes things up. then just check to make sure all the wires have power and go to the right wire on the radio 1 more time. i had this problem on an old rx7 and i did everything i could think of and it was a new kenwood deck, then eventually i just replaced some random fuses and it turned right on.

Check to make sure you have power not wether a fuse is good

are you sure the radio works? is it grounded? you did use a harness adapter to wire it up i hope and didn't cut the factory harness, what about the fuse on the stereo.

check grounds... make sure you have a solid body ground, seperate from the factory harness and that your antenna is hooked up...

Yes ground it "safely" and make sure all of your connections are correct

use a multimeter/voltmeter to check for constant- yellow wire should always be at 12 volts accesory-red wire only comes on 12 volts when you turn the key backwards or to the ign position and ground black wire

what kinda of car? i had a similar issue with my '98 eclipse gst that has the the infinite sound system. im pretty good with sound systems and after banging my head against the wall for a day i realized the system had to be installed though the rca wires with a special wiring harness available through crutchfield.com Item #120707003.... the wiring harness that say a wal-mart sold was wrong!!! good luck
