so i bought my car a few weeks ago
with this clifford alarm (the remote is carbon fiber looking and has 4 buttons on front)
and it usually works for me and locks my car but now when i hit the button it just awaits a few seconds and goes
beep beep beep beep beep beep
and doesnt do anything and now i cant go anywhere because when i try to get into my car the alarm just goes off

i has power all the time.. tied into a constant power and a power on when the ignition is turned on. ?
put soem ear plug in and find the power line so you can trace the sensors and use some process of elimination on the sensors and the programing. you can probably get help if not a diagram from clifford. its usually in the box and probably not online so you will have to call them. if you start the engine it might go off or at least turn the key.

I'm sorry to say but when there is alarm install issues, installers often tell me that when it is asked to be looked at, it pretty much becomes a reinstall of the entire alarm as they have to go through checking all the wiring.

There are different ways to wire up an alarm so you really have to be there and inspect the current wiring.

I would first check the owners manual and see about making sure everything is correct in the install.

if you want a thorough wiring diagram, better than the PDF file even posted in the link above given by DSM4me44, check out the tech article I submitted. I did a full on install of an alarm myself and got down to the nitty-gritty of what is the 2g wiring for alarms..

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...start-turbo-timer-install-wiring-diagram.html

It's as detailed as it can get, and from what I've seen the best to date. it shows multiple points and better location description just because I actually went through finding them.

I'm boasting because yea it was hard and I know I did a damn great job on it.

The link that DSM4me44 though is helpful as it pertains to similar alarm.

If you hit the button and it BEEPS 5 times then that is the alarm putting out a trouble code. Telling you there is a fault in the system somewhere. So make sure all of your door pin switches are working. Both doors the trunk and even sometimes the hood can have pin switches.

Look under the dash, somewhere there should be a Valet button. It will look like a small red or black push button switch usually. Once you find the switch, turn the ignition to the ON position and press and hold the Valet button till the alarm deactivates.

Im not 100% sure if thats how the clifford alarm works, but its worth a try. If you have the owners manual look up How to put alarm in Valet Mode

damn that sucks can you contact the owner and see if he knows anythingg about the alarm system maybe he can tell you where the fuse for it is so you can deactivate the entire system its usually hidden in case of theft the thief can't find it to make it easier to steal

Very nice link! You should be able to find every wire from your alarm system using that.

Go to Best Buy. I had a similar problem with another alarm system, I spoke with the installer and repaired it in no time. The cost twenty dollars, he was looking at a Dsm and Honda, he brought a Dsm and joined the site.

thanks for the replys guys

WOW iv been wondering what this random switch and button is for
so i need to turn the switch ON and hold the button?
i think i am going to pay someone to re wire it for me

the thing im scared of is that my Apexi Turbo Timer is wired the same way and that im gonna mess something up :S
anyways...i hate previous owners ROFL

see if you can find out the model and the installation manual online for the unit... there will be a section towards the end that will tell you what error you are getting based on light flashes.

it sounds like your alarm is going into theft mode when you go to unlock it meaning something set off the door trigger or the shock sensor try turning down the shock sensor the reason it beeps that many times is to warn you that someone set off the alarm

i would invest in a viper alarm cause they are easy to find info on, or if you are electronics savy just build your own alarm that way you can add on all kinds of cool stuff like 1 button windows down and remote start and all the nice stuff.

Clifford,Viper,Python,Autostart and more, are all made by Directed Electronics and are virtually the same.
