First of all I wanted to know how to change out the tail lights on a 1999 Eclipse Spyder with stock rear bumper. How do I got about changing them out with aftermarket ones?

My second question then involves the stock front bumper of my eclipse. Are the 1999 Eclipse Spyder front bumper and 1998 Eagle Talon front bumper interchangable? I am in the midst of locating a Talon front bumper and want to put it on my Eclipse if it will fit the same as the stock bumper now.

The lights are very simple. open the trunk and right inside there are two small plastic pieces to remove that are in the same position as the lights. Take these off then there will be a bunch of 10mm nuts to take off and the tail lights will come out of the back of the car. I would use a deep socket to get them off and I think there are around 8 on each light.

If you put a talon bumper on then you will also need to switch the headlights out too! The talons use the 95-96 eclipse headlights only. If you don't it will leave a funny gap by the corners of the headlights

Concerning the tail lights how would I go about removing the center piece as well? Same thing only removing the center plastic piece?

As for the bumper, I could just put on some after market 95-96 fitting halo headlights could I not?

the center section is set up about the same as the tail lights. Just remove the center plastic piece in your trunk.

aftermarket 95-96 lights will work just fine.

Sick, now I need to wait for my tail lights to come in. Once I get that done I will start my search for an Eagle Talon front bumper, might even hit a few junk yards.

Figured I would update and say no luck in finding a '98 Talon front bumper yet, the one I did find they wanted $750 for and that seems outragous. As for the rear lights they came in a couple days ago and I changed everything out without problem. When I get a second I will post up picks of the finished product.

im from CO... ft. collins to be exact. (check the plates in the gallery :hellyeah: ) anyway, i tried getting a 2gb talon bumper from the certifit in denver and its a no. ive been trying to find a 2gb bumper to put on my dsm for awhile, the link i sent is the cheapest ive seen. good luck though.

:dsm:

Yeah, so I have discovered. I don't know how willing I am to spend $400 on a bumper. I don't know what to do other than hit junk yards now.

Sadly I have had no luck finding a 2g Eagle Talon bumper for less than $400 but I have still yet to look around junkyards yet. Guess the search continues and I still need to get a pic of the rear tail lights.
