I think it stick out further than other body kit front ends, but it is sweet and look really unique. The Quality is A-1. Go ahead and get one :thumb:

All 2G's look good especially fixed up to me.

Get the BOMEX FRONT in ELECTRIC BLUE or some nice shade of blue.

That is the hottest and best way to show off that front. Go for it and have a good time with it. Don't worry what others think. You have just opened it up for some OMG  negative comments.

Thanxs. I was thinking about blue. My friends mom has a Kia Optima in this really nice shade of blue. I the papers say " Imperial Blue". It's nice.

I would definitely get the Bomex front which almost nobody has so it is super UNIQUE, QUALITY MADE, and the finishing touch would be to get the car painted that Kia Optima "Imperial Blue". Do it:thumb:

I might as well. It is my first car, and I live in a town full of Mustangs and european cars that kids parents bought for them. I want my car to be unique.

:dsm: Mustangs are way too common and the European cars like Volkswagons, BMW's, Audi's etc can be a lot more expensive to modify, but I have seen some nice ones.

Your Eclipse with Bomex will be a lot more UNIQUE. The blue color is the way to go. It is almost a no brainer.:D

Blue is played out.

I like bomex. I'm going to get one once funds allow.

I do think the bomex kit will look really dorky with no intercooler though, mostly because it'll just be a big gaping hole in the front.

If you don't have a big huge FMIC than get one of those grill kits off or www.ebaymotors.com or anywhere else. That is only cosmetic anyway. You shouldn't worry about a FMIC if you are not a hard-core racer anyway.

Seriously what color is newer and cooler than the Electric Blue colors?? There are a lot of shades of blue. Just wondering what is cooler or newer?

I think it looks tight. It different and better than most other kits out there for our cars. If you get it though, get the whole kit instead of just the front bumper. It will look out of place. Im getting one in a few weeks and I will post some pics when it all painted and on my car.:D

The idea of having it stick out like that is to create less frontal surface area, think like the stock front end being like a spoon, and the Bomex front being like a more of a sharp shape. Which one has lower air resistance?

This was actually done RIGHT, unlike say the other kits which are basically built off of some other car and they stick out, because Joe Sixpack was tired of molding fiberglass.

"What color is newer and cooler than electric blue?

You shouldn't worry about a FMIC if you're not a hardcore racer anyways."

Considering you consider yourself into "Show cars" so much, you sure don't seem to pay attention to the fact that every other Mitsubishi out there wants to be a metallic blue/Honda Si blue color. Hell, there's even that Alpine or whatever crappy stereo builder who has an eclipse in that "hella tyte" Electron Blue with a BOMEX (type 2, as shown above) front end on it.

As for the "You don't need a FMIC unless you're a HARDCORE racer." I'm still chuckling. Have you even seen a Bomex kit without a FMIC? You see the GROUND through it.

Just my opinion, but if you're going to go "Japanese style" with a Bomex kit, you should back it up with tuning the rest of the car in the Japanese way, that is with a large front-mount, High quality wheels, etc etc etc.

You don't need the FMIC. Who says that you have to have a Bomex only on a supermodified GSX? If a person likes it with the huge gaping hole and they use the grill kit to cover the whole for the look. I am not hating' on them. I think they are ingenius. That is paying attention to detail for a purpose.

I can see you do things different and are more mechanically inclined, but don't expect everybody to do it like that, is all that I am saying. If it is your first car and you just want the look of the Bomex (which is a really hot look and not common) I would get a grill kit and hid the gaping hole....paint it some blue color and be happy with it. Daily driver/ not showcar:rolleyes: (see I am noting a detail here).

FMIC Are for Tuned cars only with turbos and since this isn't a question of tuning, but a question about style to me it is irrelavent in this particular discussion to have a FMIC, although you don't agree.

Every Honda or Mitsubishi out there that Honda Blue SI color looks sharp and that is why it is popular.:thumb: Only thing about this is you have to judge this on how much you like the color and how many people where you live have it? Maybe most of the people who have that Honda Si blue color are in California etc.......so if you don't live there then you will still be unique in the area you live in, plus he said he wanted to paint the car KIA Optima "Imperial Blue" not Honda Civic Si blue.

You still never told me what color is hotter than the blue. You just don't personally like it that's all. Blue is one of the hottest colors out there on the showcar scene no doubt about it and this young man just wants a good looking car. He isn't concerned about the FMIC right now or may never be. So I wouldn't give him a hard time about that on a non turbo car.

There is no rule or law that says you have to do it all the way with MAJOR MONEY $$$$ Japanese tuning, Japanese wheels etc etc. This a daily driver to just look good with and get some looks with a UNIQUE bodykit In a sea of Mustangs and European cars. Think about his criteria of what we are discussing. Now if the the goal of the car was going to be that you want seen in IMPORT TUNER, SPORT COMPACT, SUPER STREET, PERFORMANCE AUTO & SOUND etc. and you want to win mucho trophies at car show than that is a different matter altogether.

You just personally prefer not to see a Bomex kit on a DSM unless it is only all the way SHOW Quality level or not at all. I disagree with your opinon thats all. especially on a daily driver and a persons first car ever.

IMHO I think you can still get the Bomex front and have fun with it just get a grill cover to best as you can hide the gaping whole from the lack of a huge FMIC not being presence. The look of the Bomex and rarity is worth the extra effort. I would not let a gaping hole stop me if I wanted the style of a the Bomex front end. Especially on a daily driver and it is only your first car. If you live by cait siths restrictions you will never have any fun or be unique the way you like to.:thumb:

Wait a second... Is you car blue? Or are you just painting the front bumper blue. I read this whole thread and it sounds like you are just painting the front bumper...

^^^thats what i was wondering. If thats you idea then please paint everything the same color. Anyways the bomex kit is awesome. It was actually tuned right for aero purposes. I personally like the other style of bomex front on the eclipse but thats just me. The rest of the kit looks great. Good luck with it.

I think the bomex bumper sucks, it sticks out far enough to use as a table in my shed.

Yeah, and if you follow my advice, you'll actually have a very respectable, quick, and balls to the walls handling car.

Here's what I'm talking when I say there's a gap:

Yeah, just a little chicken wire will fix that RIGHT UP! Maybe you can use it to keep the hampsters from escaping.

And yes, I'd rather see a Bomex on a car that either has it done all out, or not at all.

I will have a fmic! I'm turbocharging my car. If i do get it...... I will paint the whole car. I was thinking about getting blitz side skirts and a rear bumper, and a turbo wing.

"To each his own."

Don't think that I started this becuase I'm all about the looks of my car. I'm well aware of go vs. show.

Awful. That thing must add atleast a foot in length to your car. Seems impractical as well...with that extension, you're going to scrape curbs and bumps constantly (your bumper is gonna hit long before your suspension does.)

It's down to the Bomex front bumper, or a 97-99 front bumper and headlight conversion with a front lip. Either way it's going to be a dark shade of Blue!
