Accidentaly destroyed my rpm gauge and possibly messed up oil pressure guage, cannot use overlays for rpm gauge because the needle is on the orginal only (didnt realize they were just overlays so cut the orig. rpm gauge, don't ask)

If anyone else has run into this let me know I have read posts about the 2g cluster but nothing about if you mess up the gauges in this way.

If anyone has any ideas please shoot.

ok, i have a set of 99 n/t white face guages out of a oz edition, and would like to use them in my 95 awd turbo. so please someone let me know if this sounds possible.
i am putting my own aftermarket boost, and oil pressureguages, so i dont need them.
the problem is on a turbo car the boost and oil pressure are on the left side of the two bigger guages, (the rpm and the speed).while the fuel and water temp is shared by the same unit on the right side of the two bigger guages.
on a n/t, the fuel is located on the right side by itself, and the water temp is located on the left side by itself.
how do i keep all of the white faces? can i just leave the fuel where it is at, and also leave the water temp where it is?, and take three jumper wires in the back of the original turbo guage and jump them from the right side of the guage to the left side.

the reason i ask it because the "motherboard"(or whatever the peice of thin plastic that contains all thecopper for connections) on the turbo, and n/t are almost identical

if someone has tried this before let me know

please don't tell me to just go buy reverse guages, because the quality and clarity of the factory ones surpass any and all those "kits" online, plus i wanted to somehow remove the oil and boost

save your self the trouble and headaches and just look on the classifieds and craigslist.com for a 95-99 turbo cluster and call it a day. you can find good ones for next to 40

thats what i did when i decided to do LED conversion on my dash just incase something went wrong.:thumb:

i have one. you can have it. seriously. my name is tristen number is 208 553 3123. i live in lewiston idaho so... oh and it already has the white face reverse indiglow gauges on it. i switch to a 97 cluster cause the one i can give you only reads to 160 and the 97-99 has a extra click past that. it doesnt say 170 but that exra click signifies 170. look in my profile pics there is a pic of my cluster that i will give you. i maxed that sucker out on a local high way that is brand new smooth even paved road. that pic is not a fake. i switch to the newer cluster cause mph's read more. my extra just sits around. just send me the cash flow for shipping and ill send it. call me and i can figure out how much it would cost to send a small box that probably weighs like 5-6 pounds. maybe like 10-12 bucks?

Thats nice of you...But going that fast on a public road is not the best idea.....It's cool that it will go that fast and all but not cool to do on a public road.

I've done it a few times.. What i did was pull both full instrument clusters out, then I opened them, up and put the N/T tach and speedometer with the white faces on them in the cluster that goes with the car.. The reason i pulled them and swapped was that the tach only went to 8 instead of 9 but had the same scale so it would have been off if i didn't use the entire tach... It worked well and was no further off than the OEM tach the car came with.

The speedometer worked the same way... Just swap the entire unit and then assemble the cluster and re-install it. I left the OEM turbo gauges in as far as water temp, oil pressure gas and boost... All but of them have stayed working on the ones i've swapped, but i don't think this qualifies as "custom fabrication" because it's jsut a direct swap

yea, i see what you are saying, but i am in the process ofgetting rid of the two double guages, and using the two single's. so i'll do a write-up once im done
