Carbon Fiber Hood

Are carbon fiber hoods worth the money? Can they be painted without messing it up?

Most people get em for the look, I really don't think its worth the money to paint them.

If you are gonna paint it, save your money and get a fiberglass one. I believe carbon fiber and fiberglass weigh nearly the same.

fibers not as strong, but drop some paint on it for about 100-200 bucks and it will look good

Don't paint your carbon fiber hood. That is just pointless in my opinion.

I have a hood. I plan on painting some of it. The invader. It just got here today. I am thinking about leaving it black now. The finish is too nice, but I want it to look different. Too many people are rocking the invader now. Some shop around is selling imperfect ones for cheap. Imperfections in the weaves, etc.
sorry to hijack, but anyone from NC know a good bodyshop that can do great work w/ fiberglass and custom work? if so, please PM me.
