Well I'm looking for many opinouns on my future rim purchase.
I have a 97 black gst and need help deciding between 19" silver tantrums or axis sevens. I can get the konigs from my local discount tire for $1120(tax included) or I can get the Axis' from wheelmax.com for $1950 with tires. Note that I already have one Nitto 235/35/19 tire so it would be cheaper to just get the rims. But anyways they both look nearly the same. Heres some pics of them on black 2gs.

p.s. Sorry I still havent figured out how to post pics

yeah,

personally I think the tantrum is a played out rim. And there are all sorts of knock offs of that rim, so I get sick of seeing that same rim all the time. The sevens are much more original, and I personally like them better. However they are more expensive than the tantrums.

yea i had 18" axis se7ens on my old car, an altima, and i got compliments wherever i went. very good quality and they look better then the tantrums. too bad my eclipse is 5 lug cuz i still have the se7ens in 4 lug. too bad...

go for the se7ens!!!

If you can afford the $830 difference I would go with the Axis Sevens, but if you want the same basic look than save $830 and get the Konig's. You can use the $830 for more performance mods. Also if you don't live in an area where a lot of people have Konig's or replicas of Konig's it really doesn't matter if some people think they are played out if you don't mind saving the cash;)

I'm not sure how much they are, but you should also check out the TSW spirit's. They are similar to the sevens, but they might be cheaper. Just a thought

Maybe I wasnt clear enough. the $830 difference is with tires. The tantrums are $270 each and the sevens are $315 + shipping.

hmm, if you had to go with either of the two, go with the se7ens. on a side note though, i see pleeeeeeennty of hondas/acuras up here with them..so they're pretty common around my area. just letting you know.

jey

Well I've decided to go the more expensive route and get the sevens. The decision was quite easier after seeing tantrums on two civics today. But I have yet another question:

I have one nitto 19" tire and if I get rims/tires from wheelmax the tires will be toyo. But lets say eventually a tire blows out from my will be bad camber. Now would it be a great idea to replace that tire with the nitto that I already have. The treads I'm sure are different but perhaps If I put it on the rear it wouldnt cause any harm, except look fu(king weird.

Make sure that you get the camber correction kit. I have 19's on my 95 and I wore out the back two tires in less than 2000 miles. I don't know about you but I like to get a few more miles out of tires than that. I know that you can get the camber corrretioin kit at tirerack for a pretty reasonable price. Also a good tire is the Yokohoma Prada Spec II they are awesome tires. Let me know if you have any questions.
Good luck,
Eric Larson
