want to do a talon to eclipse conversion

im sure this has been answered a thousand times but after looking arond the forums i couldnt find a answer..

i want to to a talon to eclipse conversion, im looking at a 2g talon tsi and i wanted to know what bumpers and lights match up for years? im probly looking at a 97 but not sure yet..
if anyone could tell me what eclipse parts will match what talon parts it would help me figure this out

The headlights and front bumper on all 2g's are interchangeable. If you have a 2ga or 2gb talon or eclipse, you could always switch the look to 2gb with a simple light and front bumper swap, nothing else.

1990-1994 is a first gen 1995-1999 is a second gen.
1990-1991 is a 1ga 1992-1994 is a 1gb

1995-1996 = 2ga 1997-1999 = 2gb

In my opinion the 2gb talon looks better then the 2gb eclipse but if you want to do a conversion from a talon to a eclipse i'm assuming you mean the 1997-1999 eclipse.

If its a 2gb talon its just both bumpers and tail lights and spoiler.

if its a 2ga talon its going to be tail lights both bumpers spoiler and headlights.

and obivsouly a new paint job.

And if you want to get exact then you need to replace the steering wheel for the symbol in the middle of the steering wheel and your rims will be different as well.

all and all if your going to fork over big cash for a 2gb might as well as get a 2gb eclipse like you want they are way easier to find then 2gb talons. if you want to save some money and save us from watching you get rid of a rare 2gb talon just buy a 2ga eclipse and do the front bumper headlights and spoiler.

I love the 2gb talons as well. It's just that everyone switches to 2gb eclipse, which is awsome don't get me wrong...But The 2gb talons are a thing to keep a 2gb talon. The only thing that would make the 2gb talon any better would be the rare little window thing that some of them have...
That's just my $.02 cents guys..

All 2g Talons used the same early style headlights. If you have a 2gb Talon and want to convert to 2gb Eclipse front bumper, the front headlight housings from the 2gb Eclipse will be required as well.

I have to agree with everyone else, the 2g Talons look so much sleeker than the 2g eclipses! I'm also partial to the 2ga over the 2gb talons though.

Again simply put If you want a 2gb eclipse just buy one they are easy enough to find.
second choice buy a 2ga eclipse and convert it.
third choice convert a 2ga talon (some people will be mad but very little)
fourth choice is convert a 2gb talon into your beloved Fast and the furious 2gb eclipse and make a lot of people upset like me.

But we can't stop you and I'm not trying to be mean. just read all posts above this one.

Having a Talon is a good conversation starter too. People ask, "Who makes that car?" and when you tell them Eagle, if they're younger (or even older), they ask, "Who's Eagle?" and so the conversation begins.

Its funny when I tell older people or muscle fans I drive an eagle talon (mine is awd 16g 5spd half gutted fmic etc) also mind you its completely debaged they feel "sorry" that i drive a old slow p.o.s. thats until they try to race me.

Also people try to tell me eagle wasn't made by chrysler and it isn't mitsubishi either, awd is slow and that turbo looks so small.

or you swapped a mitsu motor into an american car? that ain't right.

Wow, another Talon Killer... How quaint. I should do it too since its soo "Cool". Be like everyone else and turn my Talon into an Eclipse. Actually, There are like thousands of people here with Mustangs, I should just do a Mustang Conversion to my car, since they seem to be cool.

Bullet, I get the same crap. I had a Red Painted Hyundai Valve Cover, I'd get the "Oooohhh, Ahhh, A JDM Red Top Motor." Then I'd point out the JDM Red Top Battery to go with it...

I took my stock headlights, and blacked them out from the inside, people would ask me if they are ### Spec Headlights. I tell them "Yeah... I had to have them since they are non existant, Just love rare parts".

Now, Since I have the Somewhat ok sized turbo and Tubular Manifold, I get the "You Turbo'd an Eagle! Are they even still around?" I never really can muster out a response to this one, cause I'm just laughing soooooo freaking hard. And my car's debadged, so it kinda adds fuel to the fire as I can outlaunch 600hp drag cars without really spinning any tires... Well I'm spinning them, they just don't realize what 4 Wheel Tire Spin looks like.

I've owned 6 DSM's... All Eclipse except two Talons. I wont buy another Eclipse... And if I do, I'm converting it to a Talon. The Talon body on 1g and 2g is just soooooo much sexier. 2GB Talon with 2GA Talon Side Skirts is like some exotic ish! Talons are, for lack of a better word, Way Sexier than Eclipse's. My girlfriend who owned a 93 Eclipse GST... Wants another... I wont let her get an Eclipse, Must be a talon. Gotta Preserve the Talons! Eagles are on the Endangered Species List!

97-99 eclipse headlights and front bumper. For the rear, 95-99 eclipse bumper and lights. Although rear bumper bracket won't match. You will have to cut and weld them higher or Macguyver something up. I used some long bolts with locking nuts and washers, . The high wing is a pain to install, try and find the whole hatch assembly with wing. I kinda wish I kept my talon rear on, just for that rare antique look. You cannot beat the eclipse 2gb big mouth with fmic look though.

Rear wing is easy as hell to install... There are holes on the hatch ready to be drilled. Pre Drill Marks, You cant miss it. Drill them out and the wing fits flawless.

Sure you can beat the 2gb eclipse "big mouth" look.... 2gb Talon Big Mouth Look....

I was thinking of doing more or less the same...Then I was in the garage the other day looking at the talon. what I noticed was that I like the talon rear wing better than the gsx wing.. With a little paint It would look nice..

Talon front bumper, tail lights, rear bumper, sides, wing... everything is nicer and sexier. Only thing wrong with a 2gb talon is it didn't have side skirts...

On the conversation about Eagles and Eclipses-esp the 2G versions: Course, we know that they came out of the same plant and made on parallel assembly lines. Yet, if you have an Eagle, the value just wasn't there as does the Eclipse.

Being so, is that Eagle was a Chrysler product and any vehicle that had anything pertaining to Chrysler, never could hold the book value as does a Mitz Eclipse - even though they were made side by side.

Also, Eagle was the line that AMC started with their 4WD Eagle wagons and cars which were based from the old AMC Hornet.

True, you got an Eagle and conversations does begin on that line since it was discontinued in 1999 with the Talon being it's only brand.

I'd keep it an Talon .. simply that the VIN also shows it as an Eagle Talon .. the "4E3" with the "E" being the Eagle line. You Eclipse people are the "4A3" owners. We Plymouth people are the "4P3" owners.

Also, funny that people see me with my Laser and call it an Eclipse.."Well, you can call it that, but it's a Laser" ... and I lose them-they never heard of Lasers..outside of that disasterous Chrysler Laser made in the late 80's...and I get associated to that from time to time.

I thought many times in converting my Laser to an Eclipse with the change of the tailights and nose piece between the lights (Eclipse had the clear piece with the Mitz diamond symbol in the middle, whereas the Ply is a solid piece with the pentastar embossed in the middle of that plastic..), but cancelled that idea - It's a Laser and I'm gonna keep it as such.

I have a 2gb eclipse front bumper and no spoiler with the 2gb Talon rear end. People call it a Mitsubishi Talon . I'm working on getting 2gb Eclipse skirts and door sides for it. I'm leaving the Talon rear end though. It looks way better than it sounds.

I'm not jumping on the band wagon. If anyone wants to donate a new Talon front bumper I'd put it on. My Talon bumper was trashed and I had an Eclipse one laying around so I swapped them out.
