Hi all, So I just installed an HID kit into my high beams yesterday. Everything went fine, drove around after (still daylight) with them on making sure I wasn't going to blow any fuses/melt any wiring. Then last night I went out driving, got onto a crowded street, and realized that I couldn't switch the brights off. I can pull the lever over and over, but the brights stay on, and that little blue light stays lit on the dash.
Any ideas? Because I was driving behind a cop for a few seconds and I think he wanted to kill me.

This is just kind-of an FYI for you...HIDs are not meant to be equipped with the factory DSM high beam relay. HIDs do not like to be flashed on and off repeatedly, which is why no OEM has this feature on their vehicles. The OEM cars you see with HID high beams have a bi-xenon projector, where the low beam HID bulb supplies the light to both low and high beams. A solenoid removes the cut-off shield for high beam mode. This way, the bulb does not turn on and off.

Like I said, just an FYI.

Thanks for clarifying that, I never asked about it but always kinda wondered how HIDs worked for hi beams. I originally wanted to get a set of HIDs for my hi beams because I didn't like the idea of my lows being brighter than my highs, but I guess I'll just have to live with having really bright low beams...

OP,

Did you use the stock high-beam wiring for the HID ballasts? The low-beam circuit can handle the load but amazingly the high-beam circuit is not very capable of handling the high in-rush current when the ballasts fire up. If your brights are stuck "on" you may have fused a contact together from the excess load. Definetly get the HIDs out of the high-beam position.
