I just put a DUal(brand) flip up 7" touch screen head unit in my car and it's def better quality than I thought it would be for the price but now I'm trying to find a GPS system that has some kind of external box without a monitor that I could hook up to the headunit and have a touch screen gps system just like you see in a lot of cars stock. anyone know any brands that make this or where to find it?

Check out MP3Car.com - Your source for mobile computing solutions! - Home, you can use your flip up screen as a computer monitor and it will be able to do lots of things, including GPS and OBD-II stuff.

Thanks for the link but I just went on Dual's site direct and they make a unit that hooks right up to my unit. Then I found someone on ebay selling one brand new in box for like 250-300(auction isn't over yet):shhh:

Edit: I think I'll get that rear camera though my unit has a input for that and that would be cool to have only like $160

It's your money. Go wild. I'm old. A camera to be able to see where you're parking seems silly to me. Kind of like putting one on your ass to see if the toilet seat's down.

Thats actually VERY wrong. I have a carputer/CarPC (what ever you want to call it) in my talon (Best thing I have ever done to my car)
for good results you must use a VGA monitor. His flip out screen is probably standard RCA and will not output the resolltion required... PLus he can not use his touch capabilities.

A dedicated VGA 7" touch screen is great (has standard RCA usually as well.. So you can connect what ever else you want)

edit: but yeah MP3car.com is an amazing site! Go there for more info (or feel free to ask me if you want.. but I am no expert)

Ya beat me to it  I want to get that new G4 unit they have.:rocks: I will be absolutely debt free in January minus rent and regular utility bills, so paint job and mods HERE I COME! :sneaky::D:thumb::cool::talon:

You can build one for 1/4 of the price.
