The "cargo" or hatch or rear interior light has no power going to it. I could not find the typical push button switch on the hatch (like on most doors)...is there one?
Thanks.

Check the ground wire that runs through there it might be loose for being how old it is and check the fuse maybe its blown. Hope that help.

It mite take a long jumper wire but trying supplying power to it and seeing if it works. If it does then you either have a short or an open on the insulated side of the circuit.

Which fuse is this light on? I'll check for ground and post up if there is any on the appropriate wire. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll give that a try this morning and edit this post with my results. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but... did you make sure that the wiring harness behind the trunk trim piece is plugged in?
That is a valid Q so no worries about being a smarty:D However I did remove the trim piece to make sure it was still plugged in. No power there or at the bulb connections.

PS What activates this light? Is there a typical push button somewhere on the hatch? linked to the door/dome light switches?

I think the switch is located at the very top of the where the hatch connects to the roof.
I spent five minutes with a spotlight looking for it, still couldn't find it:confused: I did find that the previous owner had half removed one of the hatch hinge bolts:rolleyes:

Looks like corrosion was half the problem. The connections were quite rusty and I could barely get the plug off. The light now has power but no ground. The ground wire is not grounded at all. I ran a jumper ground wire to the light and it works great. So, I'm going to ground a wire behind the small rear corner access panel for the tail lights (theres acctually a hole in the body support right there that will work perfect) and run the wire about 18" over to the hatch light and splice it in to the existing "ground" wire for the hatch light plugin.

Thanks for your suggestions:thumb:

EDIT: With the jumper ground wire the light is on constantly now. Spent another five minutes scrutinizing the hatch for a switch but still couldn't find it. Gonna give up for now and come back to it later. If you have any suggestions post em up. Thanks.

2nd edit: After an hour drive on the freeway not only did the light start working correctly but so did my horn:confused: Oh well...
