Top of hatch not closing all the way

The top of the hatch on my 91 laser on the passanger side does not go down all the way. It's like the panel that connects the hatch to the roof is sticking up. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? if needed I will post a picture later. -Thanks!

Check the bumpers along the inner lip. Sounds like you may have one displaced.
