i have heard alot of people that have had their car keyed by someone get another paint job through their insurence.so if you want a new paint job but in the same color couldnt you just key your own car and say someone in a parking lot did it because how would anyone know?not saying im going too just wondering

well, i don't see why you couldn't? but why do it? that's the same reason that the insurance people are so protective of fixing peoples stuff, because people like to jip them outta stuff.

i just thought instead of paying 2k-3k why not just key it and get a high quality paint job for just the price of your deductable

Seriously this is awful...

You wonder why people complaing about high insurance. Well this is one reason why. So if you think you pay to much for insurance think about the people who key there own car and make a claim.

Not a good idea, just pay the money yourself if you want it done. Don't take the ####### way out.

chill...... i wasent saying i was going to do it i was just wondering because my girlfriends brother said he was going to do it to his car

Ya, right, "Girlfriends brother".......

Don't you know you can get into deep crap even TALKING about such dishonest BS?

It's called conspirency to commit fraud, and it's NOT a joke.

This kind of this is straight up felony THEFT in my book period, hope anyone even thinkin that way gets busted!

It's punk ass theifs like that that jack my damm insurance every other month!

:cough: Insurance Fraud :cough:

i'm with you there (studying insurance)

in the long run they'll get their money back.
they have their ways.

daltah, remind me not to work for your insurance company when i graduate....unless i'm in the fraud department (i'll be gunning for you) ;)

No way, not only is it fraud, but what kind of repect would you have for your own car? That would be like circumsiseing yourself so that your health insurance would pay for the V.D. you contracted from a whore. Painfull.

I know 3 people who have done that. When they ask me when I'm going to paint my car, that it should be done by now, I get a little bit mad! I'm working and saving to pay for a paint job, I'm not taking the easy way out.....

ok...first of i was making it up about my girlfriends brother. He bought a 97 honda accord and it had a few scratches on it but didnt care at first but then he started asking me what if i just key it and then the insurence will pay for it.of course its wrong and i didnt say go ahead and do it and i didnt say dont do it.i just want to know what other people thought so once again chill!!!!

Granted if it happens and i get a new paint job thats cool and all but i'm not gonna do it myself, but i wouldnt mind a "small" rear ending, i need a new bumper.

If you screw yer Insurance company, I believe it's called a reach around.

I just want to point out that he really didn't say he was going to key his car.... so yeah, some of you should really check yourselves before you go jumping all over people like that. Its not cool :(

LOL.....MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE BEFORE TRYING ANY OF THE ABOVE.....

Yes people do it all the time. Yes it's dishonest. Now take a look at the fortune 500 in America or even just the Fortune 100 for that matter......and you want me to believe that what I pay for insurance each year is HONEST?! OMG

I DONT CARE HOW BAD PEOPLE RIP OFF INSURANCE COMPANIES.........THERE IS NO WAY I WILL EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER FEEL BAD FOR THOSE INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!!!

In my mind, Insurance is the same as Vegas. Pretty lights, slick salesmen, lose all yer money.

Yes, you're right. People would actually have to take responsibility of their actions. :)
