I just recently checked out importfan.com and noticed how cheap the bomex kits were. It was like around $150 for a bumper, that just seems so cheap to me. Is the quality not good? Does it not fit well? Does anyone have experience with this stuff? Any info will be appreciated.

If it's THAT cheap, it's probably a replica. It doesn't take long for taiwanese companies to make replicas once a new bumper style comes out.

I guess its not bomex, but i'm wondering if its quality stuff or not. just curious if anybody ordered from here before.

the kits that are like 150 are GTP brand the bomex kits are labeled i believe they are about 350 a bumper. but my friend just order a full GTP kit for his civic so im going to see how good the stuff is before i order it haha

I just got my Bomex Type 1 rear from GTP International. Excellent quality. True Bomex piece. Has the Bomex stamp on the inside right rear. Came predrilled and with metal inserts for the liscense plate mounts. Was 675 shipped. I highly recommend GTP and will do business with them again. Only problem is that you have to pay with money order or Cashier's Check. Oh well, small price to pay when ordering quality parts.

It is a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. 4 layer fiberglass, finished to a perfectly smooth shine, predilled to fit, metal inserts, perfect fit on the car, (I held it up and matched the holes). Can't ask for more when buying a kit from Japan. Well, made in Japan anyway.

Yeah I guess. Just have to drive carefully. I've had an Andy's Auto Sport fiberglass Combet rear on for over a year with no problems.

Bomex kits are 7 layer, not 4 layer, of hand laid fiberglass. Hand laid is stronger than machine sprayed, which is what most kits are these days.

No problem.

Another nice thing about bomex kits is that they actually come in BOXES, rather than just wrapped in a plastic baggie with some bubble wrap on the corners. Kind of trivial, but it greatly reduces the chance of shipping damage.

BTW all bumpers/materials will crack. I know my stock stuff is cracked to all hell...
