Like the title says, I just did my headliner, and it came out perfect after using the wonderful instructions on this site.

There is just one problem.

At the rear of the headliner, you can see that I didn't do a good job. I was hoping that my car is missing a panel.

This is the area where the top of the hatch meets the headliner.

My other vehicles have a plastic panel here.

This is what I am talking about. I know it's hard to explain, so hopefully this helps.

Thanks!

Hard to see, but there should be a trim piece there. It's shallow, but enough that you can tuck the edge of the fabric in.

Your missing a trim piece. It holds the back of the headliner up and hides the edge.

If its hard to put back in its because your trying at too high of an angle. Thats what messed me up. Just take your time and dont force it and youll get it back in.

Can you please reiterate on this please? My main problem was getting all the clips to hold and getting the trim in. I tried putting the clips on the trim and then putting the trim in and I also tried putting the clips in before and I failed at both, miserably at that. :sosad:

Thanks all....I am relieved. Doing the headliner is extremely easy. Only things I did different was fail to do as clean of a job as specified....especially where the interior lights go. I cut out a square that was substantially smaller.

Still came out perfect.

In addition, when I went to Napa the guys said not to use a brush, but a putty knife. They told me it would take me forever with a brush.

I don't know if they were right about the brush taking forever, but I can tell you that the putty knife (a pretty small one) worked out PERFECT.

I wouldn't suggest pressing too hard with the putty knife though, LOL.

My headliner board was fairly cracked up and broke worse when I was removing the old headliner. I just used some epoxy that set fast and it was as good as new!

I just redid my headliner.. went pretty well.. i used a putty knife to put the back trim on.. it worked pretty well

i wrapped mine in some black headliner fabric and i love it but i was thinking of going micro suede or somthing else.
any one have pics of a CF headliner?
