I just did a A/T to Manual Swap on a 94 Eclipse. Found everything I needed in the tech article except this. I searched the forums but couldn't seem to find a thread with an answer. How do I get the reverse lights to work with the A/T Harness?

Thanks

There are two wires on the main connector from the at harness in the engine bay. One is solid red and one is red/blue. You need to connect these two wires to the reverse sensor on the manual tranny. The easiest way is to get the harness off a manual car and connect it to the sensor and soldier the wires together at the at connector after you cut them loose. They are pin numbers 10 and 11 on the tranny connector. They are right next to each other, so when you see a red and red/blue count the pins and there you are. The sensor also has these wires colors for easy match. But since its a switch, they should be reversable(not recommended). The red carries in 12volts and the red/blue sends 12volts to the reverse lights when the switch is tripped.

n/p. I did the swap myself about a year ago. It was tough because I kept running into rainy days on my days off so I couldn't work on it. The reverse lights were one of those things I could not find, so I used the school's Michelin On Demand and got it. So now I just had to look up the wiring in my DSM manual I picked up for christmas! :thumb:
