One or two light coats and to really make them look good get yourself some clear coat and go over it with two or three coats. When i do mine I spray them in my booth well I'm painting a customers car then when i clear the car i clear my tail lights. WOW it makes them look so much better than the dull black. But thats my opinion!!!

obviously clear coat is going to make them look better LOL its clear coat!

can you buff your light after you done with the VHT? i just used enamel high gloss paint and some clear coat to do mine. then i buffed the clear coat made them shine real nice.

and you don't have to add a coat of clear to your lights after you use VHT, cause VHT already has clear mixed in

let me get this straight you used enamel high gloss paint??? how does the light shine through??? Also if you have ever used night shades it comes out it doesn't have the most shine and the ones that i have seen people try to wet sand and buff usually do not last long. The reason i use clear is not just because of the amazing shine and high black finish it provides but it protects against weather and other element that may harm.

if you dont want to paint them, get the transparent tinted vinyl. Its not hard to install, and if you ever change your mind, or get a ticket, its easy to take off. Looks better than paint IMO, if done right of course.
