Ok, this may sound stupid, or it may sound like the idea of the year...

I have a 97 Spyder with a turbo wing installed. I like the look but some days I wish i didn't have it, just for a change.

I was thinking that it would be cool to be able to take the spoiler on and off and be able to cover the holes with a plug with a color matched head.

Kind of a real "Modifiers" car.

So let me guess this straight, you are going to wake up one morning and not like the wing, so you are going to go outside, take off the inside panels and remove the wing for that day, and then the next day you like the wing, so you are going to put the wing back on?

This question must be directed toward the other poster because owning a Spyder with an OEM turbo wing does not require me to remove any panels. I simply will open the trunk, remove the six screws, lift off wing, clean top of trunk lid, place in color matched plugs and be done.

I wouldn't do this everyday, but I may change it once or twice a month or even less. Get tired of one look, then switch to the other.

Kinda like you change your underwear. ;)

hmmm... interesting. only thing im worried about is how the plugs will look. 6 holes with color matched plugs, i can be tolerable if the color matching was good. might not look that bad if they were counter-sinked. i dont think the trunks thick enough tho.
what kind of plugs do you have in mind?

I think it would be rety cool. you don't know how many times i've looked at e-cripses without wings and thought mine would look cool like that for a spell.. Spray paint some tampons, shove em in the holes and spit on em till they expand LOL J/K get sien rubber plugs from teh auto parts store and just spray paint them with the closest color you can find.. from 20 feet no on would even notice.

This is what I was thinking.

i guess they would work. just color match em with some dupli-color er something. keep a can cause the paints gonna flake off stretching and pushing the rubber around. post some pics if/when you do this. see what it looks like.
