How achieve this with paint

Anyone Know how to achieve this color look, such as color to use, on the valve cover with paint or will I be to far in, and should just have had it PC when done

That is powdercoated. The color is anodized blue. From the information I got on powdercoating, anodized blue is a stage 2 color.. IMO I think you could achieve the same effect with some high temp enamel paint although PC would last longer. I painted my calipers black with the advance auto parts high temp paint and they came out with that nice glossy look I think you're goin for. Good luck
 
Duplicolor makes the METALCAST paint. It is heat resistant and it is a two part paint. You have to spray the silver basecoat down first and then once thats dry you lay down the red "candy" lookin color. I used it on my valve cover before I just painted it with the actual paint I used to paint my car. It works well.

P.S. be careful on the blue, it works just like a candy. If your too heavy on one side it will be much darker. every coat, it gets darker.
