Well I've got a question about my car alarm. The car originally came with a "viper" series car alarm, but it has never worked properly so I just took out "brain" of it and have been working off the stock controls. Going away to college, though, I want something that'll keep my baby safe. Anybody have any suggestions for a nice alarm? Oh... and can I get a remote starter option with a manual trannsmission? Would that be a wise thing to do? I'll be using a turbo timer as $$ permits, but I've been told that pretty much all the installation shops should know how to work around that, right?
Just looking for suggestions.
Thanks,
Bryan

DEI owns Viper, Clifford, Python, Avital, Sidewinder, Valet, Hornet, Rattler, and Wasp. I'd suggest the new Viper 790XV. I have it in my SUV and I'm going to install it in my Eclipse when I get it back. I added the auto window roll up and down on my suv. On my eclipse I already have the perimiter sensor from my old viper so I'm going to have that alond with the window going up and down.

With all of those fetures what does that thing run. I know it can't be cheap.

Wow.... sounds like a really nice alarm system, just a little out of my price range, and prolly a few too many features that would just confuse me. Although that'd be a good way to eliminate the possibility of drunk driving... there wouldn't be any way in hell I'd be able to figure that damn thing out when I'm blitzed.
Any suggestions for about the $300 price range?
Thanks,
Bryan

I was looking on ebay, there are many of those alarms, clifford matrix rs3 and viper/python equivilent being sold some as low as $220 + shipping!! These are avertized new and un opened, I was looking into getting one myself. I am still trying to figure out if you can do the remote start with 5spd and tt, I'm pretty sure there has got to be a way.

I have decent theft deterrence right now.

My car is in the shop, on a lift 5 feet in the air with the front wheels off and no engine. :) But I get it back on wednsday, then I too will need a good alarm.

well i have the aladdin A2000, it is also a 2way alarm with most the same features as to other one posted, i paid $400 for the alarm and to get it installed. and to answer your question yes you can do auto start on a manual, i have it on mine. this alarm does just about everything, you can even have your alarm on silent and you will be paged as soon as something happends to your car, it also has a turbo timer function on it aswell. i have seen the system on ebay every once in a while.

Don't I bought one off ebay and I found a local place that sells auto page. They told me they stoped using them because the alarm is crap and always has problems. I thought it was cool too telling the temp in the car and all but you'll end up getting another alarm.

I work for a stereo shop and the best is DEI (VIPER). DEI is the biggest alarm company in the world and they are so big in fact that all other alarm companies adopted there wire color configuration. They have a lifetime warrenty and can intergrate with clifford etc. cause DEI bought them out.. Aso i have talked to the tech depo there and they all agree that viper is there favorite one of all.. retail of the 790 at my store is $320.00+tax...
