:mad:how would i remove black paint from my interior trim? would actone hurt the plastic or vynil? the last owner painted the whole interior black and it turned out bad...

I'm asking if there's any chemicals that i can use to take this stuff off...i really don't want to use acetone

:notgood:

If i were you i would take out the stuff and sand the sh!* out of it and then primer it and sand then paint it to your desierd color.
I would be shy of them chemicals eating through the trim.

that would be easier

what kind of paint would hold up the best? and what about the dash, door panels, center consel cover, and oh sh*t handle, what kind of paint for those?

As long as you sand it down and primer it, then I don't really see a problem in using any type of paint as long as you paint it right. I'd probably use a rag and some soapy water to wash it off before you primer it also (After you sand it down). Hell, a few of my buddies used spray paint, but they got their pieces ready the right way, and it turned out quite nice. Just make sure the paint you use will work for the pieces you are going to paint (plastic, etc). You should be able to find the right paint at NAPA or AutoZone. Talk to a service rep and he should be able to point you in the right direction!

haha yeah that stuff was what he used for the interior...i found a can by the stock jack in back ROFL

he painted everything with this stuff, plastic and all...the dash seems to be fadeing along with the door panels...how would i strip the paint off so i can repaint the vinyl

thanks everyone for the help:D

sand that suka down with 400 grit sand paper until the paint comes off.
Now after clean them off with soap/water/dry now primer them then sand them till the primer dont come off easy then soap/water/dry.
Now take some paint and spray it. hold can/gun like 10'' away and spray back and forth stay in one spot too long and you will get runs so keep it moveing.
After paint you should be ready for some clear coat spray it the same way as the paint or you will get runs.

If you happen to get runs with the clear let it dry good. after take a paint stick and 2000 grit sand paper. Now wrap the paper around the stick. take a spray bottle with water and spray the area where the run is while sanding at the same time spray area always keep the area wet and clean.Sand till the run is out. Don't sand it too hard let the paper do the work.

What kind of paint? It dont matter if you do all those steps it will stick very good.
I used a black high gloss paint/high build primer/clear
I used spray paint from the parts store. Yes the paint is holding up good for 5 months ago when i did this. Do it the right way the first round and you will not have to do it over.
