just got a Racer Design 3.5" tach... the whole 7 color bit... on my instructions it only gives me directions for 3 of the 4 wires... says black to ground, red to power, green to tach signal, but it neglects to talk about the yellow... can anyone help me out w/ this?? also wheres a good signal source, ECU??

on the driver side of your coil pack on top of the valve cover there is a wire terminal, cut away the insulation and tap into either the green or purple wire, I dont really remember but its one of thse two. the other wire might be the ignition wire.

The yellow wire os for illumination. Hook it to the parking lights, or under the dash in the fuse marked guage.

easiest way i found was to pull the stock gauges out and on the connector in the middle, when you pull out the connector, youll find a white wire hooked on to it. Tie your tach into that wire for your rpm signal.

ok i did that but it still didnt read... everything else on the tach works... i took it to the performance store wher eigot it from and they trested everything and drew the conclusion taht my white wire was only putting out .4 volts while it should have been puttin 1-6... so theyre saying tahts why its not reading... any advice??

Where is the tach connected?

Just use the AFC instructions available at their website online. Use the same RPM signal at the ECU that the SAFC uses.

i cut the white wire from behind the actual tach... the middle harness... it was the only white wire and i know i cut the right one because i dont get a stock tach read anymore... whats the afc website and where do i finmd install instructions
