Niagara,
Hey guys, Im looking for a way to utilize the two outer scoops on the eclipse 2gb front bumper to force more airflow to the radiator. My engine seems to run pretty hot, some I;m thinking some added airflow will help the situation.
My idea is to take some air duct hose and rig it up somehow. I dont know where to even begin doing this. If anyone has seen this, or done it themselves, please make some suggestions. it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rigging up tubing to run to your radiator from those outer holes will be in my opinion difficult. You should look into why its getting hot. Coolant low? thermostat not working? etc.

First of all, how hot is your car running, and how do you know that? The stock temperature gauge isn't a very good indicator; it lacks precision.

Second, a local buddy of mine did some pretty fancy ductwork to make a cold air intake box... the idea has merit because his intake air temperatures went down significantly. Here's a small picture of his system...

I'm sure you could do something similar, but you'll want the air coming in from the front. so as not to disturb the pre-existing airflow created by the fans.

You'll do better to seal the edges of the front opening to the sides of the radiator so that it has to pass through instead of sliding off the sides.
However, if you're having cooling issues, there's something wrong. DSMs that are healthy cool well enough, especially on an N/T. How old are the water pump, thermostat, and (especially) the radiator cap?

My coolant is topped off. My rad cap is still fairly new. I installed an aftermarket temp gauge last year. I think my car is running hotter because my intake just sucks in the hot air from the engine. I'm not really sure, I just figured I'd find away to get some more air the rad. I'll check out those tips. Thanks

hah ya diego's car. i wanna make a box like that.
