Hood vent mod, tell me what you think
Bordom makes you do crazy things like hack up a perfectly good hood. I wanted to vent the hot air coming from the turbo, radiator so I fabricated some hood vents. Up close I don't think it looks bad but from far away I don't like it. Then I realized i'm probly sucking the hot air back into the intake by the NACA duct. and that the bump on the hood makes the right side look uneven.
I always like other peoples input so tell me waht you think. And its not finished, parts are missing so don't flame me for that!!

I like it....so you just cut the shape and pulled the metal down?

Are you going to box in the rest of the vents or just leave them big flaps like that?
Looks good, NACA duct could've been smaller and nearer the intake but doesn't look too bad.

You're going to be in some trouble when it rains out. Are you putting anything in there to protect the motor?

I like the two front vents, if you plan on boxing them in. The rear vent I am not a fan of.
But, I also used to like MY hood vent, now I am thinking of putting on a stock hood and painting it black for now.

The car does'nt get driven in the rain, it not a DD anymore. Yes the vents are boxed in. If you look at the one photo the leading edge comes down to the radiator to help pull the air up and out. The NACA duct is fuctional it feeds the custom CF intake. Making a Composite intake tube shown here.
Thanks for th input guys. So no one likes the NACA duct.
I'll take some better photos to show the underside. The shadows are bad.

Might even look better than your old hood! Although, yours may vent more effectively.
BTW, to the OP, way to scribble out your Maryland plate. In all honesty though, I would personally like to applaud you for your choice on a top-to-bottom flowing FMIC.

I liked the Naca duct, didn't realize your inlet was where it was. IN that case even better work on the hood then.

I showed my "girl" friend the picture with the hood vents in post 1 and she was like, "Don't you even think about cutting up your hood... "

I think its pretty sweet, infact damn sexy, but i love the turbo bulge and think it would be mind blowingly amazing if it was some how planned out so it wasnt screwed up and flattened like that, and the intake at the rear has always been an plan for me but idk if it makes it a bitt too overdone or not, it does look pretty sweet, maybe when its painted the bulge will be more visable......thats my only beef, it would be alot better if the bulge wasnt messed with ...nice work tho, get er finished and painted

Thanks guys!! Yea the flat black primer does hide the bulge. I really thought it would mess up the way the vent flows into the hood but I guess its not that bad. I have some S/S screen that is going on the bottom and heat shield mat to protect the paint.

I like it but i would have not made the divider in the middle and just kept the center vent one peice, but that top vent should be moved to where the air box is or eliminated.
