I just wanted to know those of you who have these pillars, do they fit right? Thoughts of it? I saw them time ago in tan color, now only find them in black, are those still available?

I got one, came with my glowshift gauges. Fit is great, I installed it ontop of my OEM pillar, because it did not have any clips like the stock one.

I'm sure it would be fine, got mine off e-bay and I had the same experience that VPrime had. Just because its purchased off e-bay doesn't mean that e-bay manufactures it, probably made by autometer or something like that, what you need to watch out for is the rating of the seller, more problems on e-bay from crappy seller's then from the actual products (although you can get crappy products too)

I had to Cut/drill chunks out of the stock pillar to pass through wires, and such.. and part of the gauge, as the gauge ould stick out if i didnt cut/drill the stock pillar.

I got one it's a full pillar with 3 glowsift gauges. cheap, ad work and fits great, Seller was happyscrappy2

IF the new triple pod is the same length shape as your OEM one, it is usually meant to replace the OEM one. Not to put it over the OEM one. The ones that are meant to be attached over existing pillar plastic are obvious, they are not the entire length of the oem pillar.

Drilling new holes is required, but it is easy, the install will look much cleaner and more sturdy. And VPrime makes it sound like its actually LESS WORK to just replace it and drill new holes. He installed his over his existing pillar and had to hack up the existing one for the gauges to fit. Also with all the weight 3 gauges is going to put on, there might be some over hang because the existing pillar is carrying the load. This might not apply to all depending on your install, but you won't have to worry about this if new holes are drilled into the frame and the main thing carrying the load is the actual pillar frame.

Another benefit is as VPrime made obvious, is you will have a perfect intact pillar cover in case you decide to put it back to stock.

I have experience with both setups, and as you can see my choice is obvious. I have the Lotek (gaugepod.com) full triple pillar replacement.

Yeah, i never actually tried to drill into the frame :p
I guess i will have to try that one day ;)

Yea, assuming the new pillar pod already has the 2 mounting holes.

If so, just remove the old one, mock up the new one in place, get a marker and draw the 2 dots. Just drill, then screw it down.

You can buy these screw covers so it has a nice clean flushed look.

But I understand it will be more work again if you already have the gauges mounted, especially 3 of them.

I want to move to the gauge cluster dual pod so it looks less conspicuous, but then I would practically have to do EVERYTHING, and I'm too lazy. :)

I had the pod that came with my glowshift gauges off ebay. The thing fit terribly and you could see the wires through the windsheild if you looked down, it was also just very flimsy and whatnot. They have probably changed there design with the pod sice i had mine over a year ago though.

I got the carbon fiber look universal 3 gauge pod, paid $15 shipped. Fits close enough for me! Not completely perfect, no big gaps(less than 1/8th inch), but for $15, i'm COMPLETELY satisfied! :D

I got mine from glowshift. But I removed my stock piller cover and modified the pod by putting a flat ledge on the frount side using goop adhesive to form the ledge. then put strips of velcro on the post and front ledge. makes it easy to take off and on.

Yea. My glowshift triple pillar pod, came with the screws AND the covers for them. The instructions say to screw the pod into your OEM pillar, but I didn't read that until after the install.

Either way, it's screwed in... I've still got the stock pillar... looks clean... and is a perfect fit. I got one that came in gray and it matches perfectly (although it does seem to scratch easily; carefull on the install).

i also have the glowshift pod and i followed the directions and drilled into my a-pillar. as stated earlier theres is a small-medium sized gap looking in from the windshield, but not noticeable unless youre looking for it
