Hi, i dont post much on this site, but i recently was backed into and need to buy a new hood. So i figured, what the heck, i'll go carbon fiber.
What i really wanna know is, Whos got one out there, is it a nice fit? how much? (was it reasonable) where should i look? things like that. Also, does anyone know of a place in which i could get custom vents in the hood? Thanks for your time,

josh

yeah i'll agree with the VIS

umm i forgot the style, but i think on your type of car the 'vader' hood can't fit.

2MuchPSI,

Not to act as though I'm a moderator, because I'm not, but have you even tried to search this topic. Carbon hoods are talked about nearly every other day, so if you needed the answer sooner I beleive you could have had it easily.

Anyway, as others have said VIS makes the best carbon hoods by far from what I've seen. Personally I bought mine from www.trixracing.com because they have competitive pricing and excellent customer services. If you call them tell them Pete W. from Clud DSM_SW sent you and who knows, may it'll get you something.

Lastly, quwhees99, the Invader hood will indeed fit turbo models. I have one sitting in my room that will go on after the car returns form the garage, and I've seen two cars in the gallery [turbos] that are sporting this hood. At the very most it MAY require running without a cam sprocket cover.

yea, i do agree that i should have probably searched for this topic first. Sorry bout that. But like i said i dont post in the forums often.
On the other hand, ViS seems to be the way to go. i'll look into that and into the link you suggested to. i'll tell them you sent me.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Best looking and fitting hood. A little pricey, but if you buy cheap, you buy twice.

.

I got mine from trixracing also.:thumb:

cabon fiber hood looks tight. just make sure of the quality though. and craftmanship... it weighs about 8 lbs i think against stock hood. stock hood weighs? I don't know and I don't want to carry it alone. Carbon fiber hoods looks nice also on red cars and black cars. If you have a blue car, you could get a blue carbon fiber, red car? red carbon fiber and etc....

Cucumber, can i ask why? im not sure why you don't like them... please tell :D
thanks
