I just put a subwoffer and an amp in my car, and now, when ever I turn on the stereo, change stations, change CD's or go from 0 volume to 1 or higher, it makes a POP Bass sound.

It seems like its "Firing" up the amp and that the wattage is rather high then it calms down. Anyone know whats up or have an idea?

Ive got a

RFG 12 z series
Bolt lightening AMP 460watt
Poineer DEH-P520 deck.

Im using very large wireing with everything. Thanks

Gabe

did you remove the headunit at any point during the install? it sounds like a bad headunit ground. try this: unplug the RCA cables from the headunit to the amp (at the amp) and turn the system on. do you hear a pop? if not, its somthing further upstream from the amp (like an EQ, headunit, etc.). if it still pops, the amps ground is bad.

one more thing: if the amp does not turn on at all with the RCAs unplugged, the amp has a bad ground as is grounding out through the RCAs and through the headunit. this MIGHT cause the pop, although im not sure it would.
