Please help me relocate my Deck/Head unit

As the title says I need some help relocating my deck in my 2G..
The double din slots in my car are now a molded in 7" monitor..
I need to move the deck some where else because I still need it.

I want it in the similar area as I dont feel like extending/rewiring
I had some ideas.
-One was to cut a square hole right below the DIN slots.. where the cigarette lighter is.I could slide the Deck in through there, then put one of those plastic trim pieces that come with head units around it to cover up..
Problems with this idea is.. its very expensive to undo (would need to replace the that whole part of the dash) If i ever decide to go with a different set up.
Also the fact that I think thats where the ECU is..

-another idea was to put the deck in the Center vent.
Problem with this one is, it looks really out of place, I want the whole set up to look almost OEM. Also I wouldn't know what to do with he vents, would I need to some how close off the vent? and how would I support the whole head unit.. I cant really get in there to put a brace, so it would basically be held in place by the small plastic trim.

-Third idea was to stick it in the glove box. I don't REALLY need access to the deck, but it would be nice to have. Problem here is IF i need to use the deck, I am sort of in a situation where I cant reach.. 99% of the time I will be fine with out it though...

-4th idea was an extension to the third.. put the whole thing int he deck, but put the face plate in the driver side sun visor.
Problem is that i would have to do pass wires through the car.. Not a fan of this

Also the fact that soldering wires tot eh small connections on the faceplate and head unit would be a PAIN..

Oh the whole purpose of this is for my computer set up. I am having a computer handle All of the audio etc. But need the deck to power the speakers (don't want to rewire, or buy another amp).

I think my 3rd option is the best.. But I dont know... help me decide, or give new ideas.

To reach the ECU in your car yuo have to take the side panels off and there it is. It is a good ways away from the location you are speaking of.

The most simple way would more than likely be the glovebox. If you are only going to need access to it once in a while this really poses no big problem other than it wouldnt be as "cool" as being displayed I guess. I have seen alot of hotrods done this way tho, so as to not hack up the dash.

In my buddy's old eclipse he had the deck mounted inside the armrest. It was positioned on an angle at the front. I never really looked at it too closely, but it looked pretty simple. Just cut that space out from the armrest container and this wouldnt even require a great deal of wiring. This guy lives in ireland now, but ill try to get a hold of him to see if he knows how that was done if anyone's interested

Only thing I see wrong with all of those idea's is they are mostly difficult to access easily, Mod's like these should make it easier not more difficult. The arm rest idea isn't horrible, but still not the best. I'd hate to see you wreck while trying to manipulate the buttons because of poor access. Best bet would be to scrap the 7 inch monitor you have and get a double din monitor which has the cd/dvd drive behind the screen.

Well the whole plan is to just use the deck to power the speakers (instead of a second amp)
Every thing will be controlled from the 7" screen..
Oh and scrapping the screen is not possible.. I am installing a computer in the car to handle all cars media (and data logging/tuning when i can afford thee extra bits I need.)
At the same time keeping it look OEM+...

Basically the only time I will need to use the actual deck, is adjusting a setting(always before driving) or if the computer decides to die, and the Deck be the last resort..
Obviously i would not try to control the deck when its very far (either park, or get a passenger)

IF every thing goes as planned.. I should never have to see the deck after the initial install... well unless my battery dies and i have to reset every thing

this would probably be your best bet, I've seen it done once or twice and it came out pretty dam good for them but sorry no pics

not yet.. still waiting on a few parts..
I have a molded double din trim piece thats covered in Carbon fiber, it doesnt look great because I didnt do a lot of prepwork, and the CF shows all the imperfections (I will end uo redoing/making another one) .. all i need is the guts of the screen (ordered the case, to fiber glass and prepare..)

The computer itself will be going in the trunk, I am making a custom case made out of 2 PS2 cases i had...

I am goign for an oem look.. butr still aftermarket, illg et pics when im done

Scrap the deck and hook up an amp. If you arent running subs you can get a small 50x4 or so. Then you dont even have to worry bout messing with a deck.

I was going to do that, but cant afford an ampr ight now, I am trying to get it all going first, then eventually scrap the deck.
