Short story: I bought 4 rims/tires for an unbeatable price but knowing they dont fit on my 99' eclipse GS, I called a friend that uses wheel hub adapters on his STI. He gave me a place to go but he dosen't know alot about fitment. I know wheel hub adapters arn't cheap but I want these rims, so I have to deal. Anyways,

Question: I know about adaptitusa.com and I know the adapter I need for the right bolt pattern ( 5x4.5 to 5x100 ) but I believe these rims are +35 offset (held them up to the top bolt and the tire was rubbing the suspension tower but just barely) So I believe I need to take them up to et40 but I need to know the size of spacer to have included within my adapter.

Specs: Mille Miglia Cello 18x8's w/ potenza s-03 225/40ZR's
Stock Suspenion (for now.)
Fenders ready to br rolled ;p

If anyone can help me, would be greatly appreciated. My estimations of the needed offset are probably wrong, so correct me. I just cant find any definative specs for this rim!

[BC-2 body kit comes Saturday, trying to get everything ready]

They haven't come up with an adapter yet to increase offset. ;)

The wheel and tire dimensions you describe should fit fine, though you will probably need to roll the fender flanges if you are lowered.

Hah, yeah, I guess I could have worded myself a tad better though ;) (I'll take pics later tonight). When I hold the bolt pattern on the rim up to that of the studs on my hub, the inside of the tire touches the upper control arm or whichever piece comes close to the top or the wheel, but not by much. It also looks like (if it were truely mounted) then it'd be a few mm tucked inside the fender. I was thinking, with the wheel hub adapter, I can change the bolt pattern, and they also have the option of including 'nested' spacers, using 2 sets of lugs (hub -> adapter and then adapter -> wheel) which I believe reduces the chance of premature lug failure from stress, but I'm not 100% on that. I'm trying to figure out how much of a spacer to have them include to make the rim push out just enough to fit.

Is the adapter and I have choices of 1.00", 1.30", 1.50", 1.80" 2.00" 2.30" spacers. Any insight on this idea? Any help would be appreciated, as it always is.

The adapters you want might have to be custom made. I understand that you are wanting adapters and not just spacers, needing to shrink the lug pattern. But be careful that an adapter can only be as thin as the lug nuts holding it on. Unless your wheels have slots where the lugnuts slide into.
A 1/2 inch adapter would have a 1/4 inch recess for the lug nuts on the 5 -4.5 pattern. When you go to bolt the wheels to the adapter, the lug nuts will be protruding about 3/8 of an inch past the adapter. Unless your wheels with the 5x100 pattern have recesses between its lug spacing they will not fit. You could have the wheels cut or drilled to fix this, but its not something that I would do.

Also I would recommend that you go wheel centric and hub centric with the adapters. Their about twice as much, but your rims will be centered with the hubs. Makes everyhting alot easier, and no rings to loose or seize into place.

I missed the part about converting from 5x100mm to 5x114.3mm. If you were absolutely attached to the wheels, the solution would be to have the wheels re-drilled, if that particular wheel has the meat to support the new holes. This would likely cost more than buying wheels that fit in the first place. The offset of your wheels is already on the low side at 35mm (40 is ideal). An adapter to get the wheels to fit would be about an inch thick, reducing your offset to about 10mm. Highly impractical on a street car.

The best solution therefore is to sell your existing wheels and buy wheels that fit. Keep the tires if you want. The size is okay, depending on the size of your new wheels of course.

If anyone would please, I can't find and need to find any/all specs on the 99' eclipse wheel hub assembly. And if also possible, specs on the axel's used (stock). Thanks.

About the offset of the wheel, I may be wrong about what offset the rim actually is, I am having a really hard time trying to find sure-fire specs on it, but, I took pics of all the measurements I could do that tirerack had diagrams for (backspace, lug)... I'll upload those later if anyone would like to help me check my math (horrible, i know). I do know that from the mounting point to the lip of the tire is about 6" (thats already minus the fraction of an inch that seperates the tire lip from the rim lip.)

The seller also told me that these wheel fit (without mod, except fender) on a neon(not the sr4 or whatever it is), how different are our axle, hub setup's compared to them?

Thanks.. as for the lug pattern difference, I'll just go get new rotors/hub and have them drilled and tapped, I think.

Give this site a view about wheel spacing.

I am to agree with Wret, that if the wheels dont fit, than it would be more costly to try and make them fit.

If this is such a good deal, and you think you can make a few dollars on them, buy them to sell or trade for a similiar pair. If your worried about buying new tires, take them off before you sell or trade.

As for fitting on a neon, I dont see why they wouldnt fit on an srt4.

In my personal experience, if someone is telling you that the wheels will fit without any modification needed except to roll the fenders, that tells me there's modification needed.

Having your hubs and rotors redrilled with new longer studs will not keep your tires from rubbing on your strut towers and braces. Not to mention expensive and time consuming to remove the front and rear hubs. You will still need to install a proper spacer of some thickness.

Thanks guys. I hope you know I'm not/haven't been second guessing your advice. I was just trying to look through every place and idea that I could to try and have this work. But since it seems that using these rims would create more complicated problems, then I guess I'm going to strip the tires off and sell the rim so I can get similar ones that fit (Borbet LS or Enkei GF1) in 18x8. mmm, et38 offset. LOL. I guess I'll just stick to putting on my BC-2 kit this weekend. Thanks again for answerin my questions.
