97 oem bumper material

Are the 97 oem bumpers ABS or Urathane? I can't seem to find this in a search anywhere... If it's Urathane I might experiment with a plastic welder or adhesive to attach a urathane front lip to my oem bumper... Anyone tried it? My gallery doesn't seem to work anymore, so if you want to see what i have go to www.snailspeedcarclub.com it's under dave's eclipse/viggen.

I need to fix a crackl on my OEM bumper on a 97 2gb Clipse,

Will this plastic weld fix it? I was thinkin of Fusor, is it the same thing?

A plastic welder looks like a big soldering Iron. It uses plastic rods to "weld" cracks together. There is a mesh backing you need to use to keep the melted urathane in check.

OK I talked to my dad's friend who owns a body shop... He got me this gray liquid urathane ($20 a tube) and it worked like gold...... This stuff is super!!!! stickey and when it dries is sandable/paintable and flexable as hell .... I'll be getting some pics of the front bumper soon.

I've been looking for a 2gb front eclispe bumper but i guess there are bumpers made of different material? can someone help me sort them out as to the quality of them. thanks

are you looking for an aftermarket bumper like a body kit? Urethane is probably what you are looking for. Try not to get fiberglass as it is very fragile and will crack at the slightest bump where-as urethane is a lot more flexible will hold up to a lot more abuse

man i just bought a 2gb bumper!!! gonna go pick it up friday. only 75 bucks brand new not sure what its made out of tho
