Got a bent rim from a friend and decided to follow the TECH/DIY post (kinda) about painting the five spoke rims. This is my first time ever painting anything and i must admit, the rim came out pretty good...

what brand paint and primer did you use?

Brand paint was duplicolor universal gold engine enamel (mentioned in tech/diy) and for primer i believe it's called SEM self etching primer and clear coat was stuff by Crowns Kleer Koat....the kleer koat gave it a nice shine

You should post pictures of them on the car when you can. I think they look sweet. I've always liked bronze/gold-ish wheels on black cars.

Thanks man I am painting my gst wheels and needed to know what paint to use. We need to see them on the car though. I thought about doing bronze to my wheels but then decided to do black with a polished lip instead. Also How was getting in the tight places with the ratttle can?

Alright, I must have some small tires on my stock rims right now because my gap looks way fatter.

Thanks, no i didn't take the tires off the rim. I just taped off the tire with painter's tape and newspaper, worked like a charm!

Then how do you explain the first pic in the thread?

Does AutoZone have all of or is it a specific color type? Im gonna try to do this when Im home for winter break if it isnt too cold

Im doing this tomorrow.. I hope it comes out as nice. Did you use the aircraft remover or just sand the wheel?
