For all those who wanted to know for a fact, the Enkei wheels from the Evolution 8 will install into a 2G with no modifications. offset is not an issue (I have GSX calipers, those with Stoptechs I'm not sure) and they do not poke out of the wheel wells at all (they line up flush against the fenderwells) the 8 inch wide wheels don't rub, and I used stock EVO sized rubber.

The tire guy's at my local tire conglomerate kept telling me they wouldn't fit my lowered GS-T. I finally had to bet them $100 that they'd fit. :thumb:

You might want to say how far you've lowered it or what your suspension setup looks like.

*edit* I should also say I like it. Those rims are hot on just about anything.

they look great man! Once again, sorry about the delay. When did you receive them? I dont know what the hell the hold up was. Also, sorry that 2 of them were slightly dirty still, i was in a mad rush to get them packaged in time.

enjoy

yup I can vouch for that..

I have Evo 7 wheels.. and they fit perfect too...

i've got these rims on my talon.

they are lighter than the evo7 wheels:

EVO VII : 22.3 lbs = 10.12 kg
EVO VIII : 20.5 lbs = 9.30 kg

Those look HOT. I actually just picked up a set for my 1g and I was debating painting them bronze too. I just might do that now! HAHAHA

This is an old thread, and the stock evo tire size is 235/45/17 if I'm not mistaken. I have these on my car as well but on a Tokico blues and Eibach pro kit and I had to roll my fenders in the back, they rubbed.

Yes, indeed. And the stock EVO 8/9 wheels mount perfectly on a 1G as well. Check out my avatar. You can also put some 18s on a 1G and I'll have some pictures in a couple of days.

Omg this is ausome. Very helpful info. I just bought a set didn't know what size tires to put onn. Will I get away with 215 40 17 tires. I am also lowered two inches and don't want to rub LOL

You can get away with it but the 215 are almost to narrow for the rim. The lip of the rim sticks out from the tire.

The EVO VIII rims look fantastic on the 1g and 2g, and seem to offer a good weight savings.

Speaking of weight savings, does anyone know the weight difference of running an EVO XIII rim vs. the ones from a 97-99 rim? Pictured below:
