Who makes the white face guages for the 1g cluster. Also I found some on ebay but one has a 145mph max speed and the other has 140mph. Is the cluster on the 90 and 91 different?

The 90 cluster starts out at 5 mph. The 91 starts out at 0 mph. Or it's the other way around, I can't remember. But, thats the only difference.

Ebay carries them.
This is the one I have

Some dsmers think its a little ricey. Maybe so, but fits my theme. My car is blue, the stock ugly orange gauge cluster was cramping my style LOL
Mines are the reverse glow gauges, and only just the numbers/letters on the gauge glow and not the actual face.
Some gauges though are called indiglo where the whole entire gauge face glows, and those kind look riceyer and not as clean. Have you ever seen the jetta gti's stock gauges... Well reminds you of that, and it matches my white face pillar boost gauge also.

It actually looks pretty good at night, and the good thing about it is theres a button on it that allows you to determine when its on or not, so if you dont feel like seeing the fancy blue light then push the button, and i located the button under the steering wheel column out of sight.

I think there are more than visual differences in the clusters. My factory tach does not work. Research has shown me that if I were to plug in a 91-94 cluster my tach should work once again.

(nightspeed87) I love those gauges, I have the same ones in my 92 FWD. They are awesome. I am not so much worried about what everyone thinks of how things look ricewise, as long as they repsect my car when it performs. I try not to let anyone cramp my style. To each his own. :thumb:

I don't think the white gauges are ricey I just don't like how they look. I've installed 2, one on a focus and one on a civic and I didn'tlike the fitment of either of them.At night they look good, but in the day they just look cheap unless your talking about an autotechnics or one of those. Those I have seen at car shows and those are definatly a step up from the ebay ones. But who wants to spend that kind of money on gauge faces? The PCP ones look ok at night I guess, If I had to get one, I would get those. My .02 psi

Are you using a 91-94 ecu?
Because I just found out my eprom Im putting in is from a 90, and which I originally thought it was a 91... I hear I have to switch wires 6 and 14 from the pins to get it to work right but, still heard something about the rpm thing not working? Any idea what problem I might have?

Currently, I am using a 90 non eprom ECU with a 91 Engine Harness and accessories.

You will have to swap pins 6 and 14 for the car to idle correctly.

Here is an article on the Tach issue, it is opposite of your problem but it may still help you understand whats going on.

http://www.dsmchips.com/1990ecu.html

My problem has to do with the fact that I am running a 90 ECU and cluster on a 91 engine harness and coil.

I am currently in the process of getting chipped, after that I am going to install a 91 cluster and see how things are.

I know that the thread at hand has went to an ecu discussion haha, but anyway, here are some pics of my reverse glow gauges from thespeedhut.com I got ALONG time ago from ebay...sorry about the poor pic quality, took them from my L6... But as far as rice goes, I have never had a "rice" comment made on my gauges, even my redneck bow-tie blue-oval hugging friends have complimented me on my gauges. They all say it makes a huge difference in the cockpit, makes it look newer and more up-to-date... I personally love them, they are alot easier to see at night, but arent like the indiglow gauges, which IMO are Rice:notgood: the last pic is a little farther away, and you can see (barely) that they arent really bright at all, and once I got my Blue leds in my autometer gauges, they match perfectly

dont have any installed pics of them in daylight, will get some later on in the week, but they look pretty much like these, just kida use your imagination, or ps if your creative haha

here s mine :
Daytime and night time for viewing pleasure :)
However, this is on a 94 talon, with, I think, the original dash
I tried before a 90 dash and the RPM wasnt working, now back to my original one , it is working.
But can someone explain me how can I replace my needles??
If you looks closely, the speed needle is all the way at the bottom, so when I m at like 20km/h, it says 0
I also noticed that my gas, oil pressure and water tempertaures arent exactly accurate, they all lean a bit on the left side. (look closely)
Please don t use the 2nd pictures since I just started the car

Do anyone have an idea? thanx

BTw, my car has 250 000 KMS, not Miles :p
The ABS light is on because I can t stand it and I took the relay out...
Also, the 3 gauges in the middle have no light in the back, that was my choice...

You have to adjust it.

Take off the clear cover, and while the car is running, push the speedometer to 0. If you can't, take it off with a fork, and put it on where it should be.

I've gotta adjust mine too a lil bit. Mine is about 5mph slow.

These all look very nice. Reading this topic has given me an idea ...

I'm sure everyone knows what a Lexus cluster looks like when it's on and off [jet black when off, illuminated numbers and needles when on]. I want to try modifying a 1G cluster in the same manner, with tinted plastic in front, and bright, crisp illuminated needles and lettering behind.

What say you all to something like that?

Actually, if you re ready to do this, here s suggestion, it s something that i found here so if you search thru posts you will get the picture:
The guy took out the existing gauges, and replaced them aftermarkets one for the 3 in the middle and the RPM if I I recall Correctly, the KMH was from a bike
That thing was just crazy

And for your idea, I guess it ll work nightime, but not daytime

edit : I ve found this, it s close to the one what i saw, but it s nice 2 and will give ou a good idea
