Should a guy upgrade his stock 1G spoiler with a wing? I have seen the wing on a '92 Eclipse. It looks nice. Smoother body I think. Just want some opinions. Thanks!

It is only up to you . Some like , some hate . For me it is the overall appearance . And what wing are you talking about ?

Its an alum. wing with a remote switch to adjust it. I have no idea the brand, but it has two posts conntected to the hatch, and a dual layer fin setup. It looks really nice, but if it has no gain, meaning downforce and what not, I wouldn't want it mainly because I don't want to be a rice burner. I want some function out of it. I intend to Drag the car and run AutoX, and see what develops out of that. If an upgraded spoiler would benefit me, great! If not, I don't want it. Don't really want to waste my money on the look right now ,you know? That's why I had the poll, just to get some input from fellow DSMers. Thanks for your reply!

Please god no

No respectable car guy will give you the time or day or even listen to what you have to say

I wouldnt even listen to a guy who had a wing like that, Id rather my car blow up than take advice from somone that drives with somthing so tacky and cheap on there car.

You have a street car, your wing wont become functional until triple digit speeds.

Waste of money

depends, what are your goals? If this is a Road Racing (like greg collier) car, a nice, functional wing would help keep your butt on the road. As far as looks go, they make me puke.

So, in short, yes if it is for function, No if it is for looks

***EDIT*** I need to open my eyes, I just seen that you said this is a Drag car with a little Auto-X, so DEFINATELY NOT! This wing would just add uneeded weight and make your car look like crap. Stock FTW

Keep in mind, it is your car, and these are others opinions, if you like the way they look, go for it.

Only full real race cars need wings, not simple weekend/ auto cross cars....
