Hey I'm trying to find a list of plastic battery relocation kits that are ihra and nhra legal. Preferably one that will fit in the passenger side of the hatch in a 98 talon where there's the little plastic piece next to the spare tire.

Can't find the list, all I see is Moroso over and over.

I have read that the battery box just needs to be sealed, and there needs to be a vent to the outside for gasses.

I saw that Jegs is offering a box very similar to the Moroso with the caption "designed to meet NHRA requirements for the relocation of the battery to the trunk or hatch areas".

"Designed to Meet" and "NHRA Legal" sure sound the same but may/may not be. If you are racing at an NHRA sanctioned track you may want to first confirm their interpretation as the $20 savings in price may not be worth it ;)

Also for any hatch-mounted battery setup to be NHRA legal you need to have a separate battery cutoff accessable and clearly labeled outside your car.

Then again most tracks don't really look for these things unless you are obviously a track car or bring it to the techs attention :dsm:
