After much consideration, I've decided to hold onto my 93 Talon TSi after all, but if I'm going to be keeping it in the driveway, it is going to have to get a paint job. Since the only parts that need paint are from the window line down, I'm going to leave the roof and pillars black. I'm probably going to paint the car grey again, and then just touch up the engine bay to blend a little better.

Anyway, I'd like to replace all of the gaskets (around the door handles, door lock cylinders, antenna, spoiler, etc) as well as replace the trim under the windows that's peeled and started rusting. Does anyone know if Mitsubishi still has any of these peices available, and if so, might anyone have any part numbers by chance?

One other question I have is how to deal with the weatherstripping along the bottom of the rear quarter windows and the rear windshield? I'm trying to strip the car down as little as possible, so removing the windows is not an option. Does anyone have any suggestions for prepping and painting without removing the weatherstrip? I'm going with a very close color which I hope should be enough.

i am going through the same process, and i highly recommend taking as much trim as u can. Its either that or being able to spot (if u look close enough) the tape marks and areas where they masked... its the details that count when painting...and yes you can still pick up that window trim stuff that always cracks. good luck:thumb:

machv.com carries alot of the trim pieces i believe... i know they have the underwindow trim...

Id suggest removing that rear stripping. It is held on with clips, if you are careful enough you can remove it without damage. There is no reason to remove the windows. In the case you do bend some of that trim, you can sometimes find good peices on ebay to replace them (used of course but unbent)
