Well since my baby is down right now, doind engine upgrades, I figured now would be as good a time as any to go ahead and do some exterior modes. So I bought a powder coating kit. What parts would you guys powder coat? I am thinking calipers and valve cover so far, but am drawing blanks for anything else. Thanks guys.

Intake/IC pipes
Intake manifold
Misc small parts all over the place (thermostat/water pipe, throttle cable box if 2gs have 'em, etc)

That's all I'm coming up with...sorry.

I just have my VC and IM coated black. Reminds me I need to update my pics!

Power steering resevoir, motor mounts, compressor housing, throttle body elbow, Well thats ill ive got off the top of my head. Where did you buy the kit and how much was it?

How difficult is the powdercoating process?

Would someone who has never done it have any trouble?

Have you tried any of the colored powders?

Just make sure there's no silicone in the air, you know.. Crap from welders. You don't have to worry too much about it running as easily as wet.

Do those kit come with.. a way to have a current running through the part?

Ive got my head, valve cover, water pump, coolant tubes, ecu holder, brackets, and a bunch of other things powdercoated.. I wish i could post some pics right now but unfortunately I'm at work. Before anyone calls B.S on the head being powdercoated, give me some time to post the pics first. Maybe the pics can give you some ideas on what to coat... will post tomorrow for ya :thumb:

EDIT: I used Hi temp silver Base coat, then a coat of Anodized Red from Eastwood Powders. Check out Tiger Drylac for more colors also...

Thanks that is awesome.

Morpherex, the way the kits work is that you ground the part your coating and the current runs through the paint.
