Question about halo projector lights

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I have halo headlights. The projector part lights the road, but the halo doesn't light it at all. Halo = show part, projector = lighting.

I'll take pictures of it when I come home and post em both halo only and lights on.

I have some halo projectors off of ebay from symmic and I still need to adjust them but they light the road decent, however before I had 1 OEM headlight and it lit the road about as good. The high beams on the projectors are amazing, but the lows are hard to adjust and and for many styles you have to rig a way to adjust them as they do not come with an adjuster. The projectors are more for show but also at about half the cost for a set as you would pay for a single salvaged one, atleast around here. Retrofitting seems to be a good way to get good visibility out of projectors but cost more money, so depends on your talents and money.

Yeah. Stay tuned. I'm getting my HID retrofit kit tommorow but my headlights Thursday or Friday. I'll post up some pics of stock night shots with the projectors. That way you can get a better perspective.

Any one got pics of them like going down a road?, I like the look but i also would like to see as well. my car is getting a paint job and i thought the halo's would look neat on it.

Yes, I know my sidemarker is out... I have bigger problems, but I fixed that tonight.

Ya the halo's look awesome IMO but some people have had trouble with the LED's in the halo's going on, mostly due to lack of a resister. To fix the problem you would have to open up the housings and replace LED(if burnt out) and add a proper resistor, but that's been discussed many times and I gotta get to work soon so quick little search should help ya lots. I have yet to hook my halo's in for this reason even though some people have no problem with them burning out, I just haven't done it.

Regarding the illumination and road visibility of projector headlights: I bought projector headlights on eBay for three reasons; 1. The passenger side stock headlight had the yellow glaucoma that the 2ga's are known for and it looked like crap; 2. Satan wanted over $300 (my soul would have sufficed, I suppose) for ONE headlight unit, 3. The aftermarket projectors just plain look better than the chrome housing stock units (and two were selling for $200.)

Considering my one headlight was so fogged over that it wasn't putting out much light at all, the projectors are a definite improvement in illumination. The low-beam projectors don't emit a massive amount of light, but enough to drive with. The headlights really shine (pun intended) when the high beams come on. These are very bright and angled wide, so here in Michigan, I can see all the critters and varmints in the ditches that would otherwise pop out onto the road. And if I were really concerned with low-beam visibility, I would just buy some aftermarket fog-lights. Currently my headlights use the H1 and H3 bulbs they came with, and the LEDs haven't burnt out yet after two years of use. I haven't tried Silverstars yet, but as soon as one of the bulbs burn out, that's what I'll be switching to.

I'll post some pictures when I get my car running again with some PIAA xtreme white plus H3's. I've had no problem with the LED on the Halo's either.

And yes, the high beams will illuminat EVERYTHING in front of the car. Who needs HID when the H1's in there are bright enough to blind people?

Fayt, any possibility of a picture of your cut-off line and light width? I'm more interested in that than a picture of your headlights dead-on.

Kinda like these pics:

I can try to do that when I get home. It kinda is in my garage not running, so I'll see if I can roll it out some and turn em on for a picture. Give me about 2 hours to get home from work and move it.

I can tell you now, I don't think my cutoff is that nice. I might need to just align my headlights better. But, I'll get some pictures with the bulbs that are in there, and then later this week when I order some new PIAA Xtreme white bulbs.
